Ray, where do you get this info? Thanks.
looking ahead to monday
BEGINNING MONDAY MAY 3
Kansas City at Toronto (3) 3rd, 4th, 5th
The Blue Jays were horrible at Skydome last year (-$1190) and so far in 2004 they?ve been even worse (1-8, -$1020 so far). That wold seem to leave the door open for the visitor, but KC has been so pathetic on the road (1-7, -$605) that we prefer to avoid this mess completely. PREFERRED: None.
Chicago W. Sox at Baltimore (3) 3rd, 4th, 5th
We don?t have nearly as much confidence in the Orioles when they are up against lefthanders (-$1010 last year). Mark Buehrle has done his best work this year away from Comiskey (1.23 ERA), and Scott Schoeneweis has been a welcome addition to the Chicago rotation (2.80 ERA). PREFERRED: Buehrle/Schoeneweis.
Boston at Cleveland (4) 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th
Good spot to use the Indians as underdogs at Jacobs Field. Boston was a big loser vs. lefties last year (-$1535) and in four tries this year they?ve managed only 3.8 RPG. The Tribe has used a trio of southpaws in their starting rotation, any one of whom would be acceptable to us. PREFERRED: Sabathia/Stanford/Lee.
Tampa Bay at Texas (3) 3rd, 4th, 5th
The Devil Rays cannot be trusted on the road (17-36, -$435 vs. righthanders away from Tropicana Field last year (1-4, -$265 so far in ?04) and we?ve already pointed out how dangerous the Rangers are at Arlington. PREFERRED: Rangers when righty meets righty.
Detroit at Anaheim (3) 3rd, 4th, 5th
The Tigers have jumped all over righthanded pitching in their road games (6-1, +$915) but have had no success as visitors vs. southpaws (0-3, -$300). We?ll play this series accordingly. PREFERRED: Tigers vs. righthanders/lefthanders vs. the Tigers.
