This media show is no different than any other media show out there. They are going to try and further their cause and appeal to the masses instead of reporting sports NEWS stories. They have done good pieces in their history and overall I have always thought it to be an above average sports news show.

This current episode has me pretty ticked off, though. First, the story about the parents suing schools, districts, coaches and refs because their kids are unsuccessful in sports. This is just ludacrous and the people should have to pay all of us back for wasting our tax dollars. BUT, the journalism was completely one-sided in its delivery. I didn't noticed how one-sided it was until they came to a story that I completely disagreed with.

Their final story was on how soccer is such a wolf in sheep's clothing when it comes to injuries. First off, IT IS A CONTACT SPORT. That means there is a chance of injury. That report was the lamest piece of journalism I have seen in a long time. The sad thing is that I had a friend (one of the many who hate soccer simply because they don't know anything about it) quote Real Sports as to why my niece should not play soccer.

If anyone has seen this episode, please chime in.

Are there people out there that like this show? If so, why? Why not?

Dawgball -- what was one-sided about the "people suing schools" report? Are you saying you were just ticked off because they didn't present the angle "people should have to pay back what they cost the courts."

My opinion on that story: they didn't actually slam these losers too hard, even though that would have been easy. They just let them present their own cases which was enough to make them look like the asses that they are. I thought it was a pretty fair story.

The soccer story was more about concussions from head to head and head to foot contact. Sometimes they dig for a story. Whenever you have one of these things, they also find the kid who says "I can't concentrate in school after the injury" which always sounds bogus. Every sport has injury risks. I didn't like them focussing just on that one thing.

Gumbel is a big fat moron. How he keeps getting jobs, I'll never know. At least on "Real Sports" most of the time we only get him in 60 second doses.

Just one more thing: a lawyer might chime in here on the paying back the courts for frivolous lawsuits, but that's a pretty bad idea to a lot of people. I believe it greatly discourages lawsuits. I know -- that might seem like a good thing after some of the cases we hear about but it's really not. Courts help consumers and citizens against companies and governments and forcing people to pay back court costs on lost cases is a big impediment to that.

We're allowed to sue people here. There are protections against wrongful lawsuits too (they mentioned one in the story, also thrown out) but making people pay back all those court costs has a lot of problems with it. It doesn't always seem it but the courts are there for people.

I'm not going to argue that with anyone. I don't really have any knowledge or statistics about people paying for court cases-- I'm just throwing that out there as what I think the idea behind it is.
