BOSTON RED SOX +205 - With all due respect to Andy Pettitte, who is a legitimate Cy Young candidate, I simply can not pass up on a very good Red Sox team at this inflated price. As good as Pettitte has been, Boston had him on the ropes several times in the early innings in Game #2, but let him off the hook. Although Pettitte ended up surrendering only 2 runs, he was touched up for 9 hits and walked 2 batters in 6.2 innings. Furthermore, the Red Sox hitting him well is nothing new, as they roughed him up for 8 earned runs and 9 hits in only 2.1 innings here at Yankee Stadium in his last regular season start vs. Boston in September. While Burkett is the weak link in the Red Sox rotation, he has proven to be a serviceable pitcher for at least 5 innings per game, and he is backed by a Boston bullpen that is pitching its best collective ball of the whole season right now. Also, the last time Burkett faced the Yankees, he held them scoreless on just 3 hits in 5.2 innings before the bullpen gave up the lead back in July. Given the pen?s rapid improvement, I will go for the nice value play in this spot, as a desperate Sox team looks to force a Game 7.
