Going to be up in your neck of the woods in a bout a week. Do you spend anytime on the Gambling Boats? Probably won't be able to get up north-LaCrosse, or down south- Quad Cities, (Folks seem to be ailing), or I'd buy a few rounds.
Just wondering?

Whats up Mama ?

chanman not sure what the gambling boats are like in that neck of the woods but about 2 years ago my friend and I took a casino boat from Fort Lauderdale fl to the bahama's . It was the worst and I mean worst .................. $500 I ever spent LOL most of the people at the tables don't know what the hell they are doing so if you go you must bring lots of patience with. If I recall corectly it was around $100 to board and then I was swallowed alive in about an hour :( the food sucked , but the "BAHAMA MAMA'S" they served helped ease the pain:D

The only thing that was repeatedable was that at dinner we were sat with ERVING FRYER'S mother who was on her way to vacation over there:p Very cool person.........

Get my e-mail from Jack and shoot me a message when you get home to "God's Country."I can juggle my schedule to be in Dubuque when you are home and we can hook up at the boat for a round of drinks and a few tosses of the dice......:D

Been a few years since I've been on the boat at Dubuque, all I remember is that its VERY small.

If its been a while since you've seen Dubuque's harbor, Chanman, you are in for a nice suprise......

Reds do they still have the dog track there?
Chanman dont know how far north your coming. But there is a nice boat in Prairie du Chien. Hard to believe but it's not run by the Indians. If your coming that far north I will forsure be there.

Would be nice to meet you two somewhere in between. Wanted to rent a cycle, but had to settle for a Stratus. Oy & I haven't seen the folks in a while, so I have to make more than a brief appearance- my usual M.O. and besides they aren't in the best of shape. Get my E-Mail from Jack and maybe we can meet somewhere along the river. Just wish it was the Chao Phyra...:weed:

Chanman... are you flying all the way to DBQ or going to a major airport and renting the car there? if you're flying all the way, which airport do you catch the puddle jumper?

I live up near Minneapolis right now, but spent 17 years in a house about a block away from where Redsfann lives now, and go down there less than i should these days, but still do make it down occasionally.

what dates are you gonna be in town?

MaMa- Only direct way left is on flights by American. I've taken bus from O'Hare before, but that was long time ago. Only been thru Twin Cities once. Will be in Iowa from June 19-July1. Would be nice if we could arrange a Rendezvous. Minneapolis to the Quad does seem like a good trek- how many hrs? I still hope to make the MJ LV SB party :p

There is still a dog track in Dubuque. They have live racing and simulcasting, plus the Diamond Jo is just a stone's throw away. When I was going to school in Madison a couple years ago we used to road trip there and to Miss Marquette near Prairie du Chein all the time. They got rid of the poker rooms in both (I think) but still have all of the table games.

The Dubuque track's website is: http://www.dgpc.com/index.cfm

Damn, Dave, your retired now, right? Its only a couple of hours from La Crosse to Dubuque. Besides, the Shot Tower Inn in Dubuque has got some great pizza and all the diet pepsis you can handle.........;)

You should think about coming down to Dubuque once me and Chanman get something set up.......:D

Chanman, i've got a request in a different thread for Reds right now........ if the airshow is next weekend, there is a 60/40 chance that we'll be passing thru :D

our scheduled trip is on July 3, which misses you by 2 days :(

as far as your question on the drive..... my record time is 4:45, that was without the kids in the car, and going thru waterloo, not DBQ..... with the kids along, the dubuque route takes 6+ hours, and waterloo takes 5 1/2 to 6 :(

if they could just find a way to do away with those curves towards Durango :D
