How are thnigs your way--were you effected by the floods?

No damage here but a bit of water in the basement that finally did in a carpet that I've wanted to get rid of for a while.

I don't live near Duck Creek, so that flash flood that Annie mentioned missed us, too. It did force my wife to take an alternate route to work as the water closed a couple of the major North-South roads for a while in the A.M.

Like Bahama Mama, we live on top of the hill--if it flooded here, the whole world would be under water.

I have many friends affected by the floods in Cedar Rapids, Iowa City and Coralville, though. 2 of my closest friends businesses are in Coralville and they have massive damage to their businesses--quite possibly a total loss for one of them.
And he has 7 employees that are helping him clean up, but I can't see how he will be able to keep them employed once they are finished with the clean-up. I'm grateful to not have suffered any from the flooding, but I'm very bummed about my friends' situations...

On the course!
Do I owe you that $50 yet?

God damned Ben Sheets thinks he's Nolan Ryan all of the sudden!

If Milwukee hasn't seen those 4 straight 80's.....they will REAL soon!

Contract year for Sheets = Nolan Ryan :grins:

I don't think Milwaukee has seen ONE day of 80 degrees yet, have they?

I'll start paying attention to Milwaukee's weather once it starts getting to and staying near 80 here.
And after all the rain we had its been nothing short of paradise here--upper 70s during the day and upper 50s at night--and NO rain, thankfully.

Which games did you get, Hawkeye? Gonna be a LONG year of football in Iowa City, but hey, the beer is always cold and the brats are always juicy, right? :00hour

Hope you can make it back for a game or two; if not, let me know and I'll find someone to take those tix off your hands.

They are saying the damage in C.R. will rival Hurricane Katrina when its all said and done--and thats not counting all the crop damage...

What about where your Mom lives? Everything OK there?

We had our "hundred year flood" along with you guys. Nowhere near the damage, but FEMA just declaired our county.

(It looked like shit before, though.....so I think we just got a good scrubbing.)

Very sad and all too familiar. I know very few business owners in Orleans Parish that escaped flood damage. Many lives are still altered 3 years later. I'm hoping for the best for all affected.
