Don't you always go to OT on your home field--4th and 7 from midfield and Iowa goes for it-of courss does not get it-Purdue gets in fg range and makes a47 yd with 5 seconds left. Why not punt-put them in the hole and then go to OT? Our D just sucked yesterday. Pur got plays of 18 and 20 yds to get in fg range.

Any whispers of Ferentz feeling the hot seat?

He lost alot of key elements from his coaching staff heading into the 2012, that had to have something to do with the Hawkeyes downfall?

hawk - that theory is usually the right logic, unless as a coach you feel you have no chance in OT, which they may have due to the D as you mentioned.

cg - I read an article recently that if Ferentz is booted early, he is paid $250K per month until 2020, so I doubt he is going anywhere.

We were hoping that Iowa was going to screw it up and leave enough time on the clock so that we didn't have to witness O.T.....

If Purdon't doesn't put the ball on the ground all day they blow Iowa out...and if all you did was look at the stats, you would have thought it was a blowout...

and mr poon is correct, Iowa owes Ferentz wayyyy too much money to fire his worthless ass, so they are stuck with him for another 7 seasons.....

Time for sons of anarchy....:0074

I watched the ending...Blows my mind how it's 4th and 7 and you a 4 yard pass and he gets tackled right away for the 4th down stop...Run the god damn route past the first down....Not fricken rocket science....

the theory about going to OT when your the home team is way overblown. So you go to OT when your the home team but not when your the visiting team? Makes no sense. There no right or wrong way to play for OT.

But going for it on 4th and 7 at midfield is pretty fukin stupid unless they only had 5 secs left on the clock which i didnt watch the game so i dont know.

Poon is right--as the d was terrible all day--so they don't get the 1st and Purdue has a 20 yd run and then 18 yd pass to get in a long fg range--stopping one of those 2 plays would have made a long fg try not even resonable and they would have had tpt do a hail mary. We still need a off coord that will open it up--I am for the optino? Ferntz seems to have let current college style offenses pass him by and he still is in the pro mode.
