My first taste of beer was when they were in metal cans with screw on tops...and I find this out today....Why when you drink beer do you have to go to the restroom and "Drain the lizard so frequently?"
While sitting on the pot I was reading a book...Fabulous Fallacies
and here is reality..
The reason it goes right thru you has little to do with the liquid volume..it is a hormone called antidiuretic produced by your hypothalamus (portion of brain, I believe). It regulates urine production and indirectly amount of water in your bloodstream.
when you are dehydrated it signals kidneys to stop producing urine,so more water is retained by bloodstream.
Certain substances inhibit this process ...beer being one of them.
The kidneys never get message to quit producing urine, so they work overtime, so your bladder always seems full.
One of the major elements in drunkeness is dehydration, a common sympton of a hangover.....as a matter of fact one way to diminish the effects of hangover is to gulp down a quart or two of water after night of beer guzzling...it may not be the bedtime snack you had in mind but you may feel less of that "run over by a truck feeling, next morning."
I'll drink to that
