Reports: IAF Landed at Saudi Base, US Troops near Iran Border

by Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu

(Israelnationalnews.com) The Israeli Air Force recently unloaded military equipment at a Saudi Arabia base, a semi-official Iranian news agency claimed Wednesday, while a large American force has massed in Azerbaijan, which is on the northwest border of Iran.

Both reports follow by less than a week the Pentagon?s confirmation that an unusually large American fleet sailed through the Suez Canal Saturday. Several reports stated that an Israeli ship joined the armada.

The Pentagon played down the news, saying the American maneuvers were routine. However, a report by Iran on Wednesday that it has enriched dozens of pounds of 17 per cent enriched uranium serves as a reminder that time is running out to stop Iran from being able to produce a nuclear weapon.

I'm guessing 4th of July weekend?

I will give you the benefit of the doubt on this one.
However if it turns out to be false your credibility will come into question.

Report: Israel, US preparing for war with Iran

A flurry of news reports over the past week indicate that Israel and the US are readying for an imminent military strike on Iran's nuclear facilities.
On Wednesday, Iran's semi-official Fars News Agency reported that about a week ago a squad of Israeli military aircraft landed at a military airstrip in Saudi Arabia, of all places. It was reported earlier this month that Saudi Arabia had agreed to let Israel pass through its airspace in order to strike Iran.

Is this credible enough for you Dr. Kissenger?

While Iran is a worry, I'm really concerned about what will happen if we play a major role in this. I pray that we do not become entangled in something costly and lengthy in this country, too.

This wont be costly and lengthy

It will be worse

are you shitting me here.

And it looks like this might happen. War ships passing the Suez Canal. Iran sending blockade ships to Gaza.

I dont hardly think the world will stand for that. And neither will the US and Israel.

We may be able to hit them hard but this is a country with a army that was capable of fighting and killing many Iraqs not so many years ago. And that was like not so many years ago.

I can hear Obama to Armadinakt

You go ahead and send you're relief ship to Gaza to break the blockade.

You do that and see what happens to you.

I wonder if Obama will be able to make this very tough decision that Bush left him with.

Hate to point fingers but George W decided not to deal with this world problem.

I am backing the President

Now a question to all you blowback diehards.Wouldn't this be the US and Israel w/Saudis help making a stance against the Iran regime meaning its justified?

Like the article states Saudi does not consider Israel there allies, but are backing a move to stabilize the region. That's been my point all along.Aren't we trying to keep peace(which I admit is far fetched.) in the region?I am all for this. Its the right thing to do for the region.

Rumor: Israel to Attack Iran Soon ? Reason for a Stronger Dollar?

Posted on June 24, 2010 by Yohay

There are unconfirmed reports in the Iranian press about Israeli planes landing in Saudi Arabia, unloading military equipment as a preparation for an air strike in Iran. This could be the reason for the drops in European stocks this morning, and gains in the US dollar.

According to Israel?s Globes, this is what?s causing fear in the markets:

A trader told ?Globes?, ?This is the talk of the day in London. Traders there interpret the report to means that Israel may be close to attacking Iran, hence the fears and market losses.?

The US dollar index rose from 85.60 in the early hours of the European morning to 86 later in the day. This is felt in EUR USD as well as the commodity currencies. Another ?safe haven? currency, the Japanese yen, is also on the move: USD/JPY fell to 89.25 before bouncing a little bit higher.

This report about the preparations in Saudi Arabia join other unconfirmed reports about 12 American warships that crossed the Suez canal from the Mediterranean to the Red Sea on their way to Iran. There?s an additional report about martial law in northwest Iran, in fear that an Israeli-American attack will come from Azerbaijan and Gergioa.

It?s important to emphasize that none of these reports are confirmed. Nevertheless, rumors have an impact on the markets, at least a temporary impact. With nothing else to move the markets during the European session, these rumors could be driving risk aversive trading.

Has nothing to do with it.It keeps Iran without nukes which in turn the rest of the region can sleep at nite.
.............................................................

as usual you are not thinking outside the box

we bomb them , and we dont get all their hidden chit. No way we know where all the imp stuff is.

Then Iran , bless their hearts fight back and sink some of our ships.

Then Iran closes the Suez canal and blocks all oil exports going in and out.

Yeh there will be alot of sleeping at night while that goes on.

I don't necessarily think a show of strength is a bad thing, I think military strikes from us, along with some usage of troops in the country is a completely different animal. We all have to decide what is ultimately important from our own perspective. I personally do not think - with what we have going on in Iraq and Afghanistan - that we can afford another ongoing military action. Perhaps precision missile strikes, I can see the value in that if our intelligence shows them enriching uranium, preparing for future trouble, but I can't see anything else. And I worry what might happen after that. Would think it would cause a big upswing in terrorism worldwide against our interests, for one thing.

I see there are pages of rumor and scare tactic websites reporting crazy things.

From US Navy Central Command:

USS HARRY S. TRUMAN, At Sea (NNS) -- Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group (CSG) entered the 5th Fleet area of responsibility (AOR) June 18 after completing a successful transit through the Suez Canal.

Truman CSG is relieving Dwight D. Eisenhower CSG as part of a routine rotation of forces during a scheduled deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, Maritime Security Operations (MSO) and theater security cooperation (TSC) efforts in the region.

"I am very proud of the men and women of the Truman Carrier Strike Group as we join the 5th Fleet," said Rear Adm. Patrick Driscoll, commander, Carrier Strike Group 10. "We have trained hard to support our troops on the ground in Afghanistan, and we look forward to working with our regional maritime partners to enhance interoperability and security."
