Upstairs watching sports on the big TV.
was flipping channels last nite and landed on RNC on PBS.

Politics, as we all know, are a very personal matter...I know people that are so passionate about Dems or Repubs, they will not speak to each other because of there own political views.

Me, I believe the system has been so subverted by special interests, that we are royally screwed.
I personally have voted 3rd party or independent since the late 1970's.

That being said, I could not help notice yesterday as the camera quickly panned the room, in one brief scene I saw a Foreign country flag flying right next to old glory.

It was Israeli....

WHY is any entity, at an American Presidential Convention allowed to even display ANYTHING other than the "grand old flag?"

Immediately after that I caught part of McCains rant about basically "invading Iran, Syria, and basically everyone else", all this while the Repubs bleat about "fiscal responsibility and job creation"

I am retired, 63, and fear not for myself, but for the future generations that will be "tilting at windmills"
as mindless pawns as they are shuffled from conflict A to conflict B at the behest of an un-American agenda.
Our founding fathers bones are spinning in their crypts at this outrage and perversion of what America has become.

Eventually this will come to pass, the entire system is un-sustainable.

I fear for the re-boot.

Sorry for the vent, I needed it.

Being Vietnam vet, I have nothing but utmost respect for the military....I just resent strongly the multi country deployments which do not serve our interests.

Wease, social discourse is a necessary evil if change is to ever to occur...any thinking person can see we as a country are going down the wrong path.

Sorry if in wrong section.

i apologize for the troll comment..i know thats .that`s not your m.o.....

there are folks with opposing viewpoints here in general that get along just fine...matter of fact,i have much more respect for the democrats/liberals in here that take the time to consider an option that actually means something in the bigger picture... really can`t figure out people that are willing to throw their vote away on a useless alternative....and that`s what it is...a cop out.imo... a waste....

but,that `s their right...more power to you...

I am a Multi Theater Combat Vet myself,
I hate reading and hearing about our Troops
getting whacked in these 3rd World Toilets.

But to call them Mindless Pawns?

How many have been needlessly killed in Afghanistan by "Afghani/Taliban" infilitrators?

Too many, that's how many.

Solution to that problem is grab 300 Afghanis,
line them up and publicy execute them !

Then pull up tent stakes and leave that shit hole

Right wing Neo-con pukes?

How many theaters of conflict has Obama opened or continued?

Guess it's not really an issue because you no longer get a daily casualty count on primetime news like you did when Boosh was the POTUS.

As for an Israeli flag flying.....do you care about this....
" ?The Democratic National Committee is raising a number of eyebrows after choosing to proceed with hosting Islamic ?Jumah? prayers for two hours on the Friday of its convention, though it denied a Catholic cardinal?s request to say a prayer at the same event.

And while Muslim-Americans undeniably face distinct challenges, those who are well-informed on the dangers of radical Islam are expressing their doubts about the event.

Dr. Zuhdi Jasser, a devout Muslim and the Founder and President of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy, wrote:

The leaders of this event ? Jibril Hough and Imam Siraj Wahhaj [are not] moderates. They are radicals. These individuals embrace Islamist supremacy and have demonstrated support for radical ideologies.

A quick Google search by the DNC would have shown them that Hough and Wahhaj are leaders in the separatist American Islamist movement. While they may be able to get a few thousand Muslims to attend the event, they are NOT going to be mainstream Muslims. Most will likely come from Hough and Wahhaj?s radical networks that have long been entrenched in the Charlotte area. Make no mistake they are part of the Islamist movement.

[...]
Their jummah (group) prayer is?about empowering their Islamist and MB sympathetic groups into the very fabric of the political system so that Americans become anesthetized. We need American Muslims to speak up and marginalize these radicals. The DNC needs to understand and reject them because of their radical history and ideas.

I sometimes sit back and wonder why America has taken this turn......then I read posts like this and quit wondering.

Do yourselves all a favor and spend sometime looking at Gary Johnson.

We hear about every American who loses their life over in that Hell Hole of a war you supported while Boooosh was running it!

Talk about painting your house with one brush stroke!

SSD,

they are the party of tolerance

It is going to funny as hell watching these Pussy PROGS trying to make it once the modern conveniences are gone.

As a Far out self sufficient Libertarian, let's see how long I will tolerate their ineptitude.

They are scared of guns, scared of people who make hand signs that appear to be aggressive,

Hey PROGGIES, go to the inner city and drop your DOGMATIC crap on the clowns that are always using offensive hand signals.

Gary Johnson has about as much chance of winning as Skulnuts. I understand Johnson says he will not bomb Iran.......under any circumstances? Quite a statement to make.

Until people start voting for third party candidates, no real change will ever occur.

Here is Gary's foreign policy:

Maintaining a strong national defense is the most basic of the federal government?s responsibilities. However, building schools, roads, and hospitals in other countries are not among those basic obligations. Yet that is exactly what we have been doing for much of the past 10 years.

Given trillion-dollar deficits, America simply cannot afford to be engaged in foreign policy programs that are not clearly protecting U.S. interests. There is nation-building and rebuilding to be done right here at home.

Our military should remain the most potent force for good on Earth. To do this, we should resort to military action as the last option and only as provided in the Constitution.

Pretty straightforward and simple.

Do you really think Iran is going to attack the US?
