ROCKET QUEEN - A wise man taught me to wager on the lone speed horse. Take a look at this animal. Based on this filly's recent efforts, she should benefit from this race's shorter trip. I'VE GOT ISSUES - Reavis moves this filly to the main track today. Look for a chance at a big improvement from the most recent grass race.

Vulnerable Contenders: #7 AIN'T DAT SWEET (ML=6/5), #3 CURLIN'S PRIZE (ML=3/1), #2 AMAZING ANNIE (ML=8/1),

AIN'T DAT SWEET - Can't wager on this mount in today's sprint of 6 furlongs. Hasn't even hit the board in a sprint contest lately. You should normally bet against chalk that haven't raced or show no activity in the morning over the last three weeks. CURLIN'S PRIZE - Had to show me much more last out. Never made much of an impact. AMAZING ANNIE - The Brain tells me to stay away from horses in sprint affairs that haven't finished in the money in sprint affairs lately. She showed not much at all in the last clash.

REFUSEING - That last drill tells me this gelding is set for a top effort. A wise man taught me to play the lone speed horse. Take a look at this thoroughbred. I have to like this gelding's chances of winning at the shorter distance. DA WINNER IS - The July 18th event at Delaware Park was at a class level of (87). Dropping down in class drastically, so he should be in a good position. This gelding should be in fine form, this far into his form cycle.

Vulnerable Contenders: #2 ROCKY THE KID (ML=5/2), #1 SALTINE WARRIOR (ML=7/2),

SALTINE WARRIOR - This gelding is always in the mix, but just doesn't finish first. Hard to wager on him on the top end. Not probable that the speed fig he recorded on June 26th will be enough in this event.

LA FLOR - The jock and conditioner combination here have a high win pct when they combine forces. Just see her latest fig, 57. That one fits well in this group. May be extremely hard to beat this thoroughbred on the grass today. Last time around the track scored a nice turf number, the highest of any of these animals. SILENT SMOKE - Vincent has this filly signed up for the ideal event.

Vulnerable Contenders: #6 SHE'S TOO COOL (ML=2/1), #11 LIL MONEY (ML=5/2), #9 ZIPITUPMYSISTER (ML=7/2),

SHE'S TOO COOL - This chalk horse may be out of shape without any recent morning activity. This animal doesn't have a tenacious character. Often finishes in the place or show hole. LIL MONEY - Tough to take this runner at these odds after the result (fifth) in the last event. ZIPITUPMYSISTER - Didn't land in the money on May 15th at Louisiana Downs. Followed it up with another lackluster try.

PRIMA GOLD - Faced tougher last out at Delaware Park. Based on class ratings, this is a weaker bunch, so I will put this one on my list of top contenders.

Vulnerable Contenders: #6 GLADITA F. (ML=7/5), #5 ONE BET (ML=4/1), #3 DOUBLE CROSS (ML=6/1),

GLADITA F. - Jul 9th is the last time we've seen this filly around. Have to be a little bit leery. In any race of 6 furlongs, I like to support a contender that has been sharp in sprint events recently. ONE BET - The rating in the last race doesn't fit very well in this affair when I look at the class rating of today's event. Mark this horse as a likely underpriced equine. DOUBLE CROSS - In this situation, this horse's inability to close any ground in the last race is a reason for concern. Don't feel this entrant will do much running today. That last speed figure was quite unimpressive when compared with today's class figure.

JACKIE LANE - Mare was in versus 'open company' on August 1st and should find this group easier to deal with. Mare is a few starts into a comeback here. Should give a big race today. This animal wins a lot of money per start. At the top in this event. Have to forget about that last grass race. This mare should do better hitting the dirt in this event. REDDING WELL - Looking at today's Equibase class figure, this thoroughbred is meeting an easier field than in the last race at Delta Downs. While the finish was disappointing, this thoroughbred made a good stretch move last race out at Delta Downs. Expect better right here. MEDIEVAL CHARMER - Guerrero was aboard this filly last time around the track and was impressed enough to take the equine right back. Guerrero and Lara getting together are a horseplayer's friend. Expect better today as this filly gets Lasix for the second time.

Vulnerable Contenders: #7 ROWDY N PEARLS (ML=7/2), #8 PICKETT'S DEELITE (ML=9/2), #1 MISS PAR T (ML=6/1),

ROWDY N PEARLS - This mare is always close, but just doesn't win. Hard to invest in her on the win end. PICKETT'S DEELITE - Finished seventh last time out of the box. Would have to perk up to hit the board in today's event. MISS PAR T - Hasn't been close to winning at all of late. The speed figure last race out doesn't fit very well in this affair when I look at the class figure of today's event. Mark this mount as a questionable challenger.

MY BEST SHOT - This thoroughbred could be tough today, especially since Green rode last time around the track and now should be better acquainted with this one. Gelding looks like the lone speed here. He may turn the race into a procession.

Vulnerable Contenders: #6 DADDY'S GONE (ML=2/1), #5 MCKLINTOK (ML=7/2), #1 U COMPLETE ME (ML=4/1),

DADDY'S GONE - This favorite ran on Jul 9th and hasn't had a morning drill after that. MCKLINTOK - No good results for this horse in a short distance event over the last couple of months tells me that this gelding is in a formidable spot U COMPLETE ME - Hasn't hit the board in any short distance contests lately. Unlikely to see him doing it this time either. This mount ran a most unsatisfactory speed fig last race out. He shouldn't improve and will probably lose in today's race running that fig.

STRAIGHT WAGERS:
