Was watching the questions/answer for Rice today and can not believe how anyone could vote for Boxer for any office. As most dems were cordial with pointed questions--this bitch gets on her soapbox about Iraq WMD's ect and rattles on pissing Rice off to where she simple ask Boxer if she was questioning her integrity. The rest of the Dems were embarrassed for Boxer as she looked like wicket witch of the west as she emphatically stated she voted against the war in Iraq.
I would have just loved it if Rice would have had the balls to look her in the eye and say--I know you disagree with everything--but if memory serves me correctly you were the "ONLY" person that voted against miltary action in Afgan. So is it safe to say if you were in my shoes UBL would still be running rampant--no democracy--no women voting--no female children in school--ect.

There should be lots of press on this issue tonight.

Uh yeah, let's treat Rice's incompetence with "cordial" behaviour. Maybe more people need to get all over her. Afterall, she dropped the ball on 9-11 and Iraq. Pretty big mistakes.

Maybe it shouldn't be coming from Boxer, but it needs to come from SOMEONE.

so what if Boxer is pathetic and whiny. Should we just let Rice slide on her failures because she's of the same political party?

Get over ALL THE PARTISAN GARBAGE for once. Just try it one time. Try looking at the facts for what they are. There's nothing to worry about - there are no elections for quite some time. You can let your guard down and just look at things for what they are. No Right, no Left, just honest critique of how people have done their jobs.

Rice failed on 9-11, failed on Iraq.

Rice is very intelligent, but was a failure as the NSA and was hardly worthy of a promotion. I don't think she is evil, or intentionally misled anybody like many in this admin have, but she was basically useless in her prior job. And that's not a job where we need somebody who is useless. Hopefully she fills the shoes of Powell as a great diplomat, but we'll see. I doubt it.

I agree with smurphy. It's incredible that people focus on some relatively inconsequential senator like Boxer and ignore Condi's performance. Who is more important to our future? Christ!

As a sidenote- Barbara Boxer is an idiot.

I have alot of respect for Rice.

Lets face it she has the ear of the President. The most powerfull man in the world. She will do a fine job for America.

If she has the ear of the president as SOS, then that's more than Powell had. Which is kinda typical of this admin.

i`ll be curious to see whether boxer votes for rice`s confirmation.....

because,if she does, she`s the biggest hipocrite on 2 legs.....

i hope, after basically calling rice a liar...and impuning her character, she has the stones to stand by her comments.....

if she truly believes that rice is all of the above...then votes for her,she looks like a pompous fool.........and a grandstanding idiot....with little character of her own....

I agree. But she's(Boxer) such a non-factor in the scheme of things. She raised good questions, but she was her usual bitch self as always, and as suich, loses credibility.

I would be interested, as well, as to how she votes.

But I find it interesting in these situations that there is little talk about issues that will ever affect us, or how the person in question has actually performed, but it's dominated by senators who don't mean squat and presidents from 5 years ago.

Do any of you really think that she'll make a better SOS than Powell? Because it's obvious that he got run out. That
's what happens when you go up against that Rumsfeld machine. She will not do that. Is that better?

Boxer was the only Senator that voted against the Afghan invasion after 9/11. 99-1 vote.

If she had her way OBL would still be shagging virgins in Kabul.

And you Liberals want to know why people don't vote for you!

Boxer is vermin: Howver, she and I do have something in common - we both hate her!

Self-loathing and Anti-Americanism are bedfellows.

Why would you assume that he isn't?

Yeah, she's very abrasive and just silly for voting against a campaign in Afghanistan, but in a lot of ways she's been right. And people like yourself have been wrong. It must just kill you.

I find Boxer to be the only seantor with any guts. I do think we should have gone into Afaghanastan a lot quicker than we did. But that aside I praise her for questioning Rice. Let's face it Iraq is not going the way the neocons thought it would. I think it is time they stood up and leveled with the American people about their failures there.

1st I like Rice but much prefer Powell in that position. The reservation I have on Rice is most these Arab countries and N.K. still do not take women seriously and is insult to negotiate with them. Classic example is even when Madiline Notsobright was in NK speaking with Kim and donating all the aid we could give him if he "promised to stop" he refused to shake her hand--was to busy laughing under his breath of this bonanza.

And on those defending Boxer on the tough questions on WMD--how easily we forget she adamantly backed Kerry when he said exacting same thing on WMD's no less than 6 times--do I have to hunt up his quotes?

and Kerry still with "long face" on loss. Speaking at Martin Lutheren King breakfast blamed system in Ohio for not letting people vote fast enough. Wonder what protest and wailing we would have from the left on voting in Washingtons gov race.Where "2" machine vote counts declared the Reb the winner but not good enough the wanted to get their hands on votes--and everyone knows mackines have less biased. Funny thing is they refuse handcount in King county which is largely Dem despite figures showing there were more votes than voters in that country.
Can you just imagine the picketing and protesting that would occur had parties been reversed.

--and on Boxer I think everyone has figured she is publiciting seeking hag will will do anything for publicity. Was lone dissenting vote in Afgan as noted twice previously--voted against Bushes appointment which was in no way going to effect it--now the Rice issue--AND at same time does all the whining about gring America and politics together---more Liberal Logic!!!!!!!!!!
