is it a bad idea to pick mabey one or two teams that you think will profit you all season and ride the wave?? for instance, pick team(s) that you think are underrated and if they do well you could make a pretty good profit, but if they aren't, hopfully they play atleast as good as they were rated so you lose only juice.....make any sence, or is this a really stupid idea??

here is last years standings, 14 out of 30 made some kid of profit.....not bad, eh? just don't bet the cubs.....lol

Watch out for the reds.

Watch out for the reds.

I am not saying that the reds will compete for the series, but they have a very good young team. Their lineup looks great with Boone, Griffey, Kearne, Dunn and casey. Their pitching staff needs help though.

I am not a reds fan, but they have a bright future.

Interesting thought !

Have you tried thinking along the lines of playing against ball clubs.

Take the Yankees, a big club, large following. Over priced by the books. They know they will have a winning season yet last two years were losers on the moneyline. If they dont reach the playoffs this season, then big winner fading them. Ask yourself are they a better club this year than last, offensively they will do well to match last years runs scored, defensively, their pitching staff is getting older, Clemans no longer has the fast ball, Mussina, Pettitte didnt cut much ice last season, Wells is an in and out performer, no Hernandez anymore. The bright spark who will have a winning seasom is Weaver. Dont play games he's involved in and profit will increase.

May I suggest that you look for clubs that have losing seasons on a regular basis,
Kansas City Royals
Millwalkie Brewers
Tampa Bay
Detriot Tigers

Just my thoughts, its easier to fade losing sides than play winning sides.

Never heard "cut much ice" What's it supposed to mean?

Also, I cant imagine Weaver starting any games unless of injuries. Plus, he looks to be a cancer for the teams he plays on. Good stuff, but somethign amiss with him. Contreras might be the real deal, though.

"Didn't cut much ice" means did not perform to the standards that people expect or preceive of the person.

I know I come from the UK and coverage / news is not even 1/10th of that in America, but the coverage we get is two live games per week.

Now when the Yankees are shown all their pitchers are supposed to be out of the top draw, therefore you would expect Mussina and Pettitte to have 60 % winning season as the Yankees went 104 - 64 (if I remember correctly) which is 62%. But did they have 60% winning seasons. NO.

WHY NOT ? Because both are over rated.

You say Weaver hasnt got it and he puts cancer into teams. This lad will only improve and I feel his opportunities will come.

I would have Weaver in front of Wells, Pettitte and Mussina any day of the week, but heck, it's only an opinion.

Please let me know info on Contreras.
