never owned RIM, or at least for years, and if did play it was on options once, got more lucky than good.
was even looking at buying it back at 55, on a breakout, never came they never had a great quarter in the last couple of years, was looking at a run, but should have been looking at the downside that was the run.
looking back this was a great short, but looked like a value play or a value trap could not decide which...
I mean 5 years ago the 2 ceos got other hobbies, been 2008 since RIM has had a major upgrade to their product lineup, compared to the competitors.
one CEO wanted to buy a hockey team, was in the news often, 2-3 years ago, but when did that start.
the other CEO built (5 yr. ago) a physics centre for experimental physics, seems like a great idea, and one that may work out (who knows, waste of money, or great centre for advancement), this was a charity venture not tied in with the company.
they are doing this and you have Apple and Google looking at the market...rest is history.
should have caught on, when you ceo has other interests, large ones, or large hobbies, this is trouble for the company...
have no idea how this plays out so as the norm for this stock will watch from the sidelines.
thanks
