One of my childhood heros.....I was little weird, rooted for the linemen. Nothing gave me more juice than watching him and the "Great Larry Little", pull outside to lead Mercury Morris or Jim Kiick.

Drafted outta Notre Dame in fourth round by the Eagles, then found his way to South Florida some time later as FA.

Played for the only undefeated team in the NFL, and went to 6 pro bowls in his career.

How great a Guard was he?.....Find old footage of his work in Super Bowl VIII angainst Minnesota.

He absolutely dominated his opponent that day, an HOF member by the way, in Carl Page. Page was a No Factor in that game and got tossed late in frustration at being manhandled by Kooch.

Oh, and he did that incredible feat while sporting a 10' alloy Rod in his broken left arm.....

Should be in the Hall of Fame. Absolute Respect.

Even now, at 58, thinking back on those days brings a huge smile to my face.

I remember him. That's something to remember a lineman from an opposing team. RIP
