Does anyone understand this? We give up 2 first round picks - one being Chicagos - Glenn Rice and get in return a second round pick (sacramentos no less which will be useless at the back of teh second round), Jon Amaechi (give me a fawking break!) and sign Jim Jackson.... What a horrible trade!!!!

The only thing it does is sends a message to the players and opens up cap flexibility for the next year. I STILL HATE IT. Rice is a veteran who has won and has been working his butt off by all accounts in the local newspaper. I hated Van Gundy in NYC and I hate him even more now!!! A$$hole. sorry for venting.

I hafta respectfully disagree skins........Rice's better days are behind him, it had to be a salary dump, hes a one dimensional player now basically can just shoot, doesnt play d anymore or get to the line..........You're wrong with van gundy, they're gonna be a force to be reckoned with this yr, hes an outstanding coach, has already emphasized theyre gonna get it down low to yao more, Ill bet you a hat that they win over whatever gms u say within reason (Im a knicks fan by the way, not a rockets fan)....cant wait for nba, I think Im one of the few, just sucks that my knicks will be nowhere to be found, I love to bet nba though and watch

I'm not saying it's a great trade. But getting Rice the hell off our team is the way to go. I could take him to the hole with his knees, plus he has a terrible attitude. We might suck this year, and Van Gundy might not be the answer, but atleast we are going to find out who wants to work hard and play defense. No more lazy ass, sandlot games where a less talented team kicks the crap out of you, while your coach is too busy looking for his flask to emphasize defense.

Getting rid of Rice is addition by subtraction. He hasn't helped and wasn't going to help the team. Jimmy Jack had a very good season for Sacramento last year...he is a good pickup.

I think by the end of the season, when the Rockets make the playoffs, you'll be very happy that Van Gundy is there. Much better coach than Rudy T as far as game plans, preparation, X
s and O's.
