Brett Favre, left, talks to first-round draft choice Aaron Rodgers at training camp on Aug. 1, 2005, in Green Bay.
(AP)

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP)?Aaron Rodgers(notes) is shrugging off Brett Favre?s(notes) assessment of his success.
The reigning Super Bowl MVP would rather talk about the accomplishments of his Green Bay Packers teammates than dwell on what his predecessor thinks.

?I?m just going to say that I was really proud of our team,? Rodgers said. ?It takes 53 guys to win a championship and we had the right recipe last year and we?re trying to do the same thing this season.?
In a radio interview with Atlanta?s 790 The Zone, Favre made remarks that could be interpreted as a subtle attempt to minimize Rodgers? achievements.
Favre said he wasn?t surprised Rodgers won a Super Bowl, saying ?the biggest surprise to me would be that he didn?t do it sooner? and that Rodgers ?just kind of fell into a good situation.?
Still, Favre acknowledged that Rodgers can play.
?He?s got tremendous talent, he?s very bright and he got a chance to kind of sit and watch and he saw successful teams do it right,? Favre said in the interview. ?And so he just kind of fell into a good situation. And on top of that, he?s a good player. I don?t think anyone would question now the talent around him is even better than when I was there. So I really was surprised it took him so long. Really, the early part of last year season, it hadn?t quite clicked yet and I didn?t know if it would. I just figured at some point, when they hit their stride, they?re going to be hard to beat. And that?s what happened.?

Where it is real F ing COLD
Granted Favre is a big dick, I know Rodgers numbers are this and that but at the same time I do not think he is as good as Favre but time will tell.

Rodger does have it easier than Favre, look at what they surrounded him with and look at what they surrounded Favre with.. Robert Brooks??

Add to the fact that Favre was beating Steve Young in playoff games and going up against Dallas dynasty playoff teams and Rodgers goes up against Atanta and Chicago?

BIG DIFFERENCE.

Rodgers is very impressive but I would not say he is better. Running a spread offense against the shitty defenses that play now is a no brainer, the day of running the I formation or running up the guts and winning is over. Ask the Vikings, its Ironic that they have had AP for 5 years but could only win when Favre was there. Add in the fact that the NFL will not allow teams to play defense with bullshit rules and now EVERYONE is putting up big yardage, well except a select few.

Is Favre a dick ?... Yes

Is Rodgers better? No.. Remains to be seen

Farve is an arrogant prick. He always has been.

He always needs to be the center of attention.

Very subjective, but all personality crap aside, I would MUCH rather have 2009-2011 Rodgers running my team than any year of Farve's. I always thought he was a tad overrated.

Rodgers is insane good. Way more precise than Farve was.

First off why is this even news. Slow day in Sports I guess.

Really don't see what the big whoop whoop is about what he said.

He did fall into a perfect situation. It's not like the Packers had to rebuild the team. Plus he sat on the bench for a few years and wasn't thrown to the wolves like many Rookies are. This goes a long way in helping a QB succeed in the NFL.

I can remember when Rodgers first took over and everyone was saying he sucked. Funny..

Saying he didn't win a Super Bowl faster can be taken as a compliment in some ways. Favre could be saying he thinks Rodgers is very good and thought he should have won one earlier etc.

I don't agree with the talent difference though. The Favre years had plenty of talent esp on the D side of the ball. Reggie White anyone..

Seems to me others a re trying to make something out of nothing.

Give credit to Rodgers though for the way he responsed.

With all that penis texter has done in his career I think he has earned the right to speak his mind when asked a ?.

I guess I see things differently.

I agree with Purple AND NEver tease it...

IMO...Rodgers has a better team surrounding him, an easier NFL offensive system, lack of defense etc .He still needs a LONG time to really prove himself....but no question he is a BAD ASS QB!!

Favre can answer any question how he wants and proved he was a TOTAL WARRIOR when he played. Rodgers hasn't proved that yet....only because he needs more time to put up stats. He OBVIOUSLY is on the right track and has proven just about everything thus far in his young career. Also, no question Rodgers is not a turnover machine like Brett was. Rodgers very much a systems QB, mobile, accurate and in a great situation.

FAvre was a total warrior, gun slinger that just SLUNG it and had moxy...at the time a true leader...plus could get great pain meds for the rest of his team!! :mj07:

If I had my choice today as a GM....it would be a hard call and cant argue either choice. Favre would have had shred this version of the NFL Defense....

I love it. Farve is just a dick; that's all. He says crap like that to make himself look better. Thank god I don't have to watch him jumping around the field anymore... although, boy was he fun to bet against that last season.

I'm going to love it when Rodgers repeats.

i'm neutral and see nothing wrong with his comments. honestly, i think the only people who do are people who are looking to make stabs at favre. what did he say that was so wrong, bashful, and most importantly, INACCURATE? LOL

Favre could come out and say Rodgers is a better quarterback then he ever was, is a better QB for GB, and people would still twist his fucking words.
