In an ironic twist of fate, Governor Ron DeSantis is now pleading with illegal immigrants to please come back to Florida and help with the pending clean up project, following hurricane Ian.
"Florida has been devastated by the storm, and we need every brown face we can get pushing a broom, and swinging a hammer", said DeSantis.
"There is a time and a place for everything, and right now we need to put our misguided hatred and prejudice aside, for our own well being", the Governor stated.
When pressed about his past concerns about immigrants being rapists and criminals, the Governor stated, "Our current situation supersedes the handful of miscreants that might slip through the cracks." He continued, "I will be signing an emergency act this afternoon that will allow abortions for any Republican raped by any of these men in the coming weeks."
Asked if he thought this would hurt his chances at re-election, Desantis chimed, "Not at all. I can assure everyone that as soon as Floridians are back on their feet, we will ship these people back up north as fast as we can."
