If it were up to republican Ronald Reagan he would have gotten rid of Medicare and Social Security. This recording was a campaign to stop Medicare. The reason this depression does not look like one is because of programs the Democrats made law like, unemployment insurance, Social Security and Medicare. Safety nets that if left up to the republicans would not be there.
