BB - as much as I hope this is the case as a Kiwi rugby fan, as a bettor I think there's been an over-reaction to the loss to the NZ Maori on Sat nite - a game I was at btw...

The Lions were always going to find it tough in the "unofficial fourth test" ... the Maori were very pumped for this game, having never beaten the Lions and it being the last game n charge for popular coach Matt te Pou and the last game on NZ soil for Carlos Spencer...

Also, u can't draw anything from the All Blacks 91-0 win over Fiji on Fri nite, a game I also went too.. it was about 5 degrees at nite and after the ABs scored a couple of early tries the Islanders only thoughts were how warm the dressing room was in comparison...

Where the Lions are gettign badly beaten on tour to date is the tackled ball/breakdown areas - they lack an openside flier and their loosies don't have the skill level of McCaw, Holah etc, who have perfected the art of making a tackle, getting to their feet immediately and contesting possession with the man on the ground.... the Lions look to pile up bodies at the contest, flop over the ball and don't have the pace in their loose trio to get to the contest area in the numbers the Kiwi players do...

But it's impt to realise the tests will have neutral refs, who will probably rule this area in a different matter from NZ refs... the Lions will also make improvements in this area cos they know now they have to to compete...

Also, the ABs still have some weaknesses in their squad/game, they are far from the complete package yet... the Lions will hold the upper hand come set piece time at lineout and scrums, their defence is very good, their goalkicking with Wilkinson will be better and they kick well tactically...

Just don't like the price on 3-0. GL tho....

Well, this series has gone to plan so far with the All Blacks dominating every area of the game. Northern hemisphere rugby has taken a step backwards since England won the World Cup.

I really see the All Blacks winning the third and final test comfortably (14+ points) but as with any form of betting, one must take every opportunity of locking in a guaranteed profit.

With the original recommendation of 4 points New Zealand to win 3-0 @ 6/4 (+150), an All Black win on Saturday morning will secure 6 points profit.

So I recommend 0.75 points on British Lions @ 7/1 (+700) (money line) to win the 3rd Test. This will cover my original 4 point stake on New Zealand to win 3-0 and still give a small profit should one of the biggest upsets this year in World Sport happen.

Hi Pawa

Are your brothers going to take in any cricket this summer. I will be at the one dayers both Sunday and Tuesday as well as taking in 9 days of test cricket. Got first three days for Lords, Oval and Old Trafford.

Although we are an improved team people over here are expecting to much of England after some promising one day efforts against Australia. They forget that the test team from Australia is much better equipped for five day cricket than England are at present. We have talent but a lot of young players starting to break through. In two years and deffinatly four years time we will probably be able to compete much better with Australia because our young talent will have been playing test cricket for several years and Australia will have a very large hole to fill when they lose the services of McGrath, Warne and Gilli in the coming years.

Australia's one day team is now looking abit old and they should have taken the opportunity to bed some youngsters. Hussy was a good find but he's been applying his trade over here in the summer for several seasons now.

Anyway, e-mail me if you want to talk cricket or anything else. Good luck with F1 this weekend.

Many thanks for the comforting words
