This morning on mt the press Prince Bandar got agood work out from Russert. I wil give the Prince credit for sitting there and trying to answer some tough questions. I like his around the table answer as to the gas prices being lowered in time for the election. If you listen carefully. He did say it and hope to have it happen. But has nothing to do with helping Bush get re-elected. He says it would be done because it's good for all the American people. Well good then Lets Start today. When confronted with the free pass out of the county for over 124 Saudis including 24 memebers of Bin Ladens family. This was two days after 9/11. He said the FBI said it was ok. Mind you this plain was allowed to fly to 5 majior U S cities to pick all these folk. Mean while for almost 2 full days almost every plain in the U S was grounded. And the FBI has no knowledge of approvieng any of this. Dick Cheney has no memory of ok-ing this nor does Mrs Rice. They throw it back in Dick Clarks lap and said he ok'd it. Now there some BS. Clark worked for Rice she would have had to gave that ok. No it came form way up the latter. The Bush Family and Bandar family are old friends with Bush 41. And somewhat god buds with the Pres. I know it looks bad. Like they let some of the crooks get out of town. But hey just say you screwed up and move on. What is the problem with this adminastration admitting that was a mistake. I found it interesting what Bandar had to say about Iraq getting under controll. Bandar said he suggest paying the Iraqi army 3 to 4 months salary and they would have just been as happy as could be. And it would have cost less then a billion to do it. And They would have joined force with us to fight the nasty folks Saddam had working for him. That seems to easy I think he was gussseing. But had it worked we may have saved many of our soldiers lives. I guess we will never know. His estimate to get everything under controll. Another 2 years. I bet his bud Bush will be glad to here that remark. Maybe hire a hit man.

I liked the part when Russert asked him if he was going to lower oil prices any time soon and he re directed it to say the US does
not have enough refineries and hasn't built any in 15 years. But he would be happy to help us with that for a price.

The dirty bastids.

What a crock of crappola. After I watched him I had to go hurl.

I thought the most interesting aspect was the rehashing of the very open Saudi support for Al Queda. We have known this for some time, but no one has had to answer in public with a reasonable explanation.

However, Bandar was right on target with his comment about America's oil problems being caused, in part, by our failure to build new, more efficient refineries. Part of the problem is the environmentalists block every attempt to create new refineries. I don't know if any other countries have the kind of environmental restrictions that keep us from grabbing what oil we have, but I doubt it.

ferdville,

i agree w/u that the environmentalists are stopping from more refinieries being built, but this is one situation where bush is in agreement w/them and the oil companies. If he wanted to get more refinieries built he would get it done, but the oil companies want it to stay just where it is, to keep the price up.
