Im having a hard time with this one. I dont really know if NC St can match up well with S Carolina, espcially on the road the first game of the year. I am almost positive S Carolina wins this game. My Sporting News magazine has ratings on the offense and defense. The ratings are out of 5. S Carolina's offense is rated as a 3 and their defense is also rated as a 3. I think the Gamecocks D is going to be very good this year with the addition of Ellis Johnson as the D coordinator. He did a tremendous job here at Miss St.
On the other hand, NC St's offense is rated as a 3 and their defense is rated as a 2. That last stat really raises my eyebrows. Espcially since they have to go to a tough stadium on the road against a team with quite a few playmakers on both sides of the ball. It really doesn't make things easier when Spurrier is the opposing coach.
Everything is telling me to take S Carolina but 11.5 kinda seems like a lot for the first game of the year. I can get it down to 8.5 but still a little unsure. Please help and give as much input as possible.
