S.F decision before the half????

What the f---- was Mariucci thinking when he let the time run out in the first half with 2 T.O.'s and 50 seconds at their 40??? I am not a S.F. fan, and had the Bucs in the game, but PLEASE explain why any coach would do that???? Did he want to lose the game or does he want out of S.F.

please enlighten me....
