Well, I just returned from the game with my wife and she uttered the words" same old Zips" as we drove home.
I'm still scratching my head over this one. In the first ten minutes the Zips were almost flawless on both ends of the floor. The Broncos then rallied to cut it to five at the half, and you could just feel it starting to slip away. You know the rest of the story but I'm still not going to give up on the Zips yet.
If before the game you were to tell me the Zips would shoot 52% from the floor, win the rebounding battle by 7, and only turn the ball over 12 times I'd tell you that the Zips were a winner. Their undoing was at the free throw line where they missed 15 times tonight, and a Bronco team that was absolutely lights out from the field in the second half.
Still, to contend this is the type of game that you must win, and the Zips just didn't get it done tonight. I prefer at this point to praise WMU for a great effort and hopefully the Zips will move forward off this loss. They will need to, N. Ill comes to town weds.
If somebody finds my ass somewhere near the JAR tonight , please return it to me promptly, I lost a bundle.
