samford +2-: wrong team favored imo. samford returns four starters from last year's 20-win season. bulldogs are a well coached and fundamenally sound team that finished last season 17th nationally in 3 pt % (39.4%), 25th in fg% (47.8%), and 25th in scoring defense (60.1 ppg allowed). sammies really need a win here as this road trip is sandwiched between outings @ #1 florida and #10 arizona.
towson a middle to lower echelon caa team and, while they have caa preseason poy gary neal, they are also saddled with pat kennedy, my favorite ncaa fade coach who, while a decent recruiter, has singlehandedly lost more games from the bench that any coach i know. over his career, he has managed to move from some major div 1 bb schools to the bottom of the caa. if he can keep up the good work tonight he'll be goo.d for a few bulldog points by himself.
