the rest of Sammy's 76 bats that were in the dugout have been inspected by Sandy Alderson and their were no signs of cork or any other substance in them!!! Maybe he was actually telling the truth last night!!
Sammy's Bats Are Clean!!!!

When it first came out I was in shock then in disgust,HOWEVER I think it was a mistake on account of all the other bats were clean. Like I said before it was an accident or mistake but a punishable one.
I have been to probably 60 or 70 Cubs in my life and have seen probably a handful of them with son and wife, and we have seen the Cubs take batting practice. So who posted that he was lying because the Cubs take BP 3 hours before must have never been to Wrigley. We have gotten in way before 90 minutes before gametime.
I have met the guy twice. Once in Chicago and once in St. Louis in the Cubs /Cards series. He was friendly to alot of people and I mean alot of people-he signed autographs on balls, shirts etc. He even bought a couple of beers for a bunch of us guys talking to him in St. Louis. Which I have seen alot ball players in different cities and they act like you don't exist and expect free drinks from the bar.
What he did was wrong I admit it and should be punished, but to say he should be banned from baseball and his homeruns wiped away get REAL. Then I guess McGwire's HR's should be wiped away also for taking ANDRO. Also I guess every pitcher who scuffed balls should have their records wiped away.
My opinion probably a biased one...

think about it ......as a player why would you have more than 1 corked bat-- if it breaks in bp practice ,you make another one ....you always want to have just 1 juiced bat just for the reason we are talking about.....just my opinion but i think he knew he was using it.....out of 77 bats he accidently picked the loaded one.....i don't buy it,these players are smarter than you think......anyway a good topic to talk about
