Cubs Closer
Cubs placed RHP Brandon Morrow on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to June 17, with a lower back injury.
Morrow injured his back while undressing following Sunday night's series finale against the Cardinals and was unavailable for Tuesday's day-night doubleheader versus the Dodgers. Now the Cubs' closer will be sidelined for at least the next seven days.
Pedro Strop boasts a 1.76 ERA in 30 2/3 innings this season and seems like the best bet to vulture saves in Morrow's absence, though manager Joe Maddon might opt to mix and match if it's only going to be a short DL stint.
