Finally, the 14 days of waiting is over!

DATA:

Length: 4,933 km

Nb of Laps: 62 (305,609 Km)

Best Lap:
H-H. Frentzen - 1'25"531
(97, Williams-Renault)

Record Pole:
J. Villeneuve - 1'23"303
(97, Williams-Renault)

2000 Pole:
M. Hakkinen - 1'24"714
(McLaren-Mercedes)

2000 Podium:
Schumacher - Hakkinen - Coulthard

Things to see:

Will M. Schumacher be able to get another pole, his eight in eight race? He would join the record establish by Ayrton Senna from 1988-89 if he doest it.

Will the Montoya we saw in the last race is the real one? Let me remind you that he was going for a huge upset when Verstappen hit his rear car... Will be interesting to see if Williams BMW car is as good here in Imola than it was during the brazilian GP!

Will finally Jacques Villeneuve emerge from the slump? I think so and i am eager to see against who he will be match during the qualifying... I expect a good qualification from him.

Will Schum let Coulthard win another one?
wink.gif
Don't think so...
wink.gif
Schum has been king here in Imola and tiffosi would love to see him and Barrichello for a one two place!

As soon as i see some lines up i'll get back but i'll make qualifying picks tomorrow morning very early (around 5h00 am). For those who lives (like me!) in Northeastern america, the qualifying is at 7h00 am saturday and the race sunday (happy easter!) at 8h00 am ! so be sure to be awake!!!

Grand Central Sports now has qualifying matchups, odds to win the pole, and odds to win the race. Please note that these odds will be available up to the start of the 1st Saturday free practice session. Revised odds to win the race and race matchups will be posted Saturday afternoon (EDT).
Enjoy the race!

Mr Polarcita from GCS....

You have been quite fast to change your lines
after i post some picks.... (in fact 10 minutes!)

Why no match ups involving Jacques Villeneuve? Why 2 match ups with the same drivers (Montoya and R.Schum with different lines? A mistake?)

Anyhow, glad to see you were the first to put match ups lines but i would have liked to see them a little more longer at the same odds i got...

good morning everyone!

I think OLY will put his lines off the board soon so you might like to take a chance with Fisichella -130 over button.

At GCS, i add Hakkinen -110 over coulthard for a total of 4 match ups for the qualifying...

I'll have to check last practice results before adding any other match ups...

Damn... I'm up at 4:00 AM AZ time and Oly's lines are already down?

Geeeeezz. I cannot get up any earlier than I did today and still go to work!

Am following your lead this week on Nascar djv. You said something last weekend about going slow or laying off. I thought .... well.. Might as well go for it and got creamed. Lost about sixty bucks on small plays.

Next time you have bad vibes I'm going to listen!

Qualifying results:

1-3 -3units

was winning all of the match ups until the last lap of Coulthard...

M.Schum didn't get the pole so bye bye the record for consecutives poles. Bad choice of tires by ferrari who went with hard rubber instead of soft ones... well... that's life!

Get them tomorrow!

Were way up for season so far. A little set back. Im sure this will work out long run as football or othere sports. If we can stay above 58% and are units work out. Hey between F1, and Nascar were at about 72%. Im thinking 3 or 4 & 1 for the race. Got that good feeling.

It won't happen again! AZRusty, i just call OLY to tell them their mistake about the time they put on their line (2 am central time) for the race and they will change it to real time (7 am central time) so we won't have again lines off the board like yesterday well before the race!
smile.gif

As for your 3 way match ups... don,t like it at all.... Will post my picks for the race (if there are any 'cause right now...

AZRusty,
If forced to make selections on your 3ways...

Raikonnen is value, the Saubers just keep on running.

Verstappen is the faster one, car seems more reliable this year, but has made some stupid errors behind the wheel.

Matchup picks, all from Oly...

Heidfeld over Villeneuve at +100.
- The Saubers just keep on going, the BARs haven't worked out their new engines yet.

Alesi over Irvine at +100. BEST BET
The Prosts have got decent engines this year, and Irvine admits that the Jaguars are simply rubbish this year. Alesi has 3 finishes so far against 1 for Irvine.

Montoya over Barrichello at +110.
JPM must finish a race soon. Barrichello's starts off the grid have been terrible, so there could be a gap between them by the first turn. Ferrari pit crew will be focused on Michael in this race since he's starting behind his main dangers, and may leave Rubens to fight his own battle.

Hakkinen over M.Schumacher at +120.
Starting ahead of him, and the McLarens are back in town. Price is too big, should be evens at most.

Also VERY keen on Heidfeld over Irvine at Surrey, 8/11, but they have taken prices down during the morning warmup.

as for your question Anders, i thought about Heidfeld over panis at a nice +120 but heidfeld is starting five position behind panis and in this track, position at the grid is important and we might see lots of action (accident?)at the start of the race around these guy (heidfeld,villeneuve,rakkinen,frentzen...) so that is why i put only 1/2 unit on guys match with villeneuve.

Montoya and R. Schum: no good 'cause these cars are maybe really fast but are they reliable?
