Ramirez posted a 2.28 ERA in nine starts last year before being sidelined for virtually the rest of the season with nerve damage in his left shoulder. He has reported no discomfort since reporting to camp and all indications are that he'll be ready when the regular season begins.
Following Ramirez in Saturday's contest will be right-handers Kyle Davies, the organization's top pitching prospect, and Jorge Vazquez, who was acquired in the Eli Marrero trade to the Royals.
