For the year 5-1 +6.9 units

Texas Tech -21 4units

Second big play this season and one that I really like. For one, you can pretty much blindly take Tech at home and win money. Second, there offense is doing well. If you haven't seen Doege play then you're missing a really good qb. This is his first year to play since his sophmore year in high school. He blew out his knee both his junior and senior seasons and has been a back up until this year. Leach liked him enough that he still wanted him after only seeing him his sophmore year in high school. His accuracy is what makes him so good. He's on the money with all his passes and has quite a few very good WRs to pass to. I believe Tech has around 14 frosh that are getting to play big minutes but it's because of their speed and it's something you can see when you watch them. This is the second season under Neal Browns offense and it's starting to look like everyone is understanding things.

The DC Glasgow is new from TCU but it already looks like the guys are more comfortable than last year and are starting to react instead of thinking so much.

Tech will put up 50 here, I don't see Nevada getting to 29.

Home night game for Tech is a good spot.

Nevada has some qb issues going on. Their starting qb has thrown 4 ints in the first two games so this week in practice he's taken half the snaps and a frosh has taken the other half. If Lantrip is having a bad game then they'll throw the frosh in. Lubbock isn't an easy place for QBs to play and when you have your coach doubting you then it's not a good thing. Like I said I can't see Nevada slowing Tech down and if the Lantrip is pushing it, throws and INT or two and Nevada gets behind then it will be a hard game for them. Their strength is in their running game this year but with QB issues I look for Tech to load up to stop the run and take their chances either or both QBs will make mistakes.

On Nevada D- They only have two sacks on the year. If anyone has seen Doege play then you know that if you give him time he's going to pick you apart. He was 40-44 with 5 tds vs New Mexico(yes I know NM might be the worst team and that includes many high school teams). Even if that was 7 on 7, 40-44 is awesome. He had more TDs then he did incompletes and a couple of those really should have been caught. The kid is just on the money. Also add to the fact that Tech has some tall WRs for a change. Moore is their leading WR and is looking awesome. He's 6'4 and came from the JUCO ranks. I believe he played with Newton at Blynn(spelling?). Tech now has more height and speed then they've ever had. When you add a QB that has the accuracy and arm that Doege has and a team with only 2 sacks is going to struggle. Don't forget Tech returned all 5 offensive lineman. One got hurt in late summer workouts but it was actually a good thing, they got to move a young lineman in that they're really high on.

This line continues to drop now -17 is there an injury:shrug: . TT big consensus play so I'm weary of an injury. Thanks for the pick.

Jeez, I'm seeing 16's out there now. I'm going to end up putting more down on this at that number. CB Tre Porter isn't on the dress roster this week. That will hurt but shouldn't hurt that much. Frosh RB Ronnie Daniels has been suspended, he played a little vs NM last week. Frosh RB Kenny Williams is on the roster this week. Everyone was hoping to redshirt Kenny this year because the coaches think he's an every down back and don't want to waste this season just playing a few plays. Losing Daniels and adding Williams is a big +. Williams is the future at the Tech RB position.

The only reason I can see for positive thoughts on Nevada is that the Frosh QB might get to play. He was a big time recruit for them and a lot of their people think he's going to be very special. IMO he doesn't have the line to be special in his first game ever on the road.
