I've broken even over the past week and I'm pretty steamed about it. Should be the time to rake it in. I dunno...cards in game #1 of a series look pathetic and the dogs I'm trying are blowing things late.

Saw that it was an ugly board on first look--a few days back--and with other sports beginning I decided not to waste an hour or two coming up with my %'s. Again, I'm just surviving, lately, so all the work is appearing cumbersome.

All plays are small for me today.

phillies +152
rockies -154 and -1 -128
cards -125 (tools!:mj16: )
Marlins -111 (obviously need a CG, here...nice pen:rolleyes: )
D'Backs -134 (not doing too well when I flip sides during a series...had the losers yesterday)
twins RL -106

almost forgot the Reds, -128, smaller than Obama's lead in the polls.

Tempted by Pirates, jays and rangers but can't seem to hit a dog right now. Might change the way Myers has turned things around; Phillies desperately need this game and I've never been too high on Lilly since his Jays days.

Got whipped on team totals yesterday so I'll take a break there...freakin' M's score 3 through 3 and can't even plate a singleodeon to get me a push? That smarts.

Sunday looks more promising. Ump Eddings going at Petco should enable Peavy to dominate the surging Rox. Under if Francis has anything but I don't know if I want to bet on that possibility. Peavy should be cheap with Pads dying and Rox surging...-140 and I'm hoppy.

Forgot how much I loved football.
Next two months is going to be insane for me.

May we all live long and, better yet, prosper.

Here's all I know about righty Bowden:

Aug 30 Bowden is scheduled to make his first major league start for Boston on Saturday night. The Illinois native will take the mound against the Chicago White Sox.
Advice: Bowden went 0-3 with 3.38 ERA in seven games for Triple-A Pawtucket, and went 9-4 mark with a 2.33 ERA while playing for Double-A Portland earlier in the season. "This is a little bit of a rapid assent, but I think we all feel - our development people especially - that he can handle whatever comes at him," manager Terry Francona told the Red Sox's official Web site. "It's an exciting day for the organization."

That, and that he is merely 21 years old. Guy might have potential but think about similarly-young (and much more highly touted) Clayton Kershaw and his relative struggles in the Bigs this season. I'll try the more experienced starter in a game that the Chisox really need against a club that already looks locked into the post-season. Bit of a tough call, and not the greatest line, but I think that the Sox will show more today than they did yesterday (hard to show less). Over the 10 might be worthwhile but, to tell the truth, I haven't even scoped the ump and really don't care. Buehrle was magnificent vs the 'Sox back on August 8th in a 5-3 home win (vs Lester) and the Pale Hose have won his last 4 starts. Not to pound, due to the uncertainty, but worthy of a play.
