Thanks to the guys that reached out while we evacuated do to the Caldor Fire..... We were very lucky, but unfortunately several friends and families weren't and lost everything.. Between the Caldor Fire and the Dixie Fire, too many people were displaced and lost everything they had built. I ended up staying 10 days at the Hard Rock in South Lake (I have a good friend that manages one of the restaurants there) and the Hard Rock was gracious enough to put me up for those 10 days without charging a dime.

Harrah and the Montbleu actually put up the firefighters from Cal Fire, Forest Service, Hotshot Crews, and multiple emergency responder crews...... I do have to add that obviously the Casinos were closed down for the most part (unless you wanted to gamble on sports using the kiosks for William Hill. It was very strange, because nothing was open and save for a few local diehards putting their dimes in the slots here and there, it was kinda a ghost town. No housekeeping, and for awhile there no food in South Lake, as the local Safeway and various stores and restaurants in town were closed (I think it was something like 22,000 people evacuated. Thankfully I brought my peanut butter and jelly and basically lived off those sandwiches for a few days.......

I was talking to one Fire Captain from Idaho, who was there with his crew and said that this was the largest contingent of firefighting resources being used in the US......... You see, when you have billion dollar casinos and vacation properties worth millions, you tend to get action. The fire tried to work its way into the south lake Basin, but these guys worked 24/7 to save the day. My hats off to these heroes and a world of thanks.

After day 10, I decided to pull up stakes and head to Reno for for the week. It was very strange hanging out in the Hard Rock Sports Book by myself (lol)...... But the main reason for the move was that I couldn't handle eating that damn smoke 24/7. I was on the 10th floor and everytime I stepped out of my room, it was like walking into a hookah party...... The room itself was great because you could run the AC and it sealed off the hallway, so not so bad in the room by itself.

Anyway, back to the my plays for tomorrow...

Virginia +9'........10 u *probably my strongest side play as the Tar Heels have shown me very little so far. I wouldn't be shocked if Cavs win this outright, but I'll take the points.

Troy -9'.......10 u

Penn St -5..... 10 u *White Out

Minnesota +2'.....10 u

Purdue +7'....... 10 u

*I'm pretty surprised that the Wolfpack are favored going into Manhattan. I really KSt isn't much to get excited about, however, Wolfpack being the chalk kind of caught me off guard..... I need to look deeper.

All Totals are 10 u strong..

MSU/Miami Under 57

B College/Temple Under 55'

Purdue/Notre Dame Over 58

Miss St/Memphis Over 64

Fresno/UCLA Over 63

Hawaii/San Jose St Over 61' *Strongest Total

Good Luck to All

Thanks, these fires are freaks of nature........ The Cal Fire guys I spoke with said that the behavior they are seeing now pretty much tosses out the whole play book. I read today that they are wrapping up the Giant Sequoias as the fires in that area descends on the Redwoods. Not sure what the answer is. Makes you wonder what the fires did hundreds of years ago when noone was around to fight the fires. Of course, back then, we hadn't encroached on the wilderness, as we do now.

Good luck

Glad you got out of town, two weeks of a 3-500 aqi was downright miserable. We got a place in Truckee for 6 nights and weather was a blessing mostly. Yah, the firefighters, what a bunch of gonzo he-men they are. I?m near the y, let me know if you want to shoot a rack at the classic cue one day.
