ATLANTA (Hale) -125 over PHILADELPHIA (O?Sullivan)

The Braves? rookie right-hander David Hale pitched 8 innings

of 2-hit, shutout ball vs. the Reds on April 26. He retired

the last 21 straight. For his efforts, he was sent to the

bullpen, because veteran Mike Minor was set to return from

an injury absence. This is a nice spot for him to return to

a starting role ? Game 2 of a double-header at Philadelphia

forced by an earlier rainout ? and make a case for the team

to bring about his return to the rotation. The Braves are

obviously better-equipped to handle today?s overtime scenario

than the Phillies are, given that the home side must resort

to Sean O?Sullivan to start this game. As a starter, O?Sullivan

has a career ERA greater than 6.00 for the Angels, Royals and

Padres, and his career WHIP is a high 1.58. He hails from

San Diego, the Padres gave him a shot last season, and he

allowed 31 hits and 14 walks in 31 innings pitched. So, they

said ?hasta la vista? and he has made 15 starts for Triple-A

Lehigh Valley this season, with a 3-6 Won-Loss record and 4.31 ERA.
