Beachbum, I highly recomend Direct TV . I feel they have very good sports packages available. I think they are the only one to offer the Sunday Ticket. There's nothing better than an NFL Sunday and having all the action available at a touch of the finger.

You are correct, boilermaker. Direct TV recently signed a new contract with the NFL for exclusive rights to NFL Sunday Ticket. Dish Network will not have it. Also, for those that have been getting Sunday Ticket on a big dish (C-Band), you will not be able to get it any more. A friend of mine installs satellite dishes, and he has been busy replacing a lot of C-Band dishes with Direct TV dishes for people wanting to continue getting Sunday Ticket.

I'm a Digital Cable man myself.

If it is avaliable in your area check it out. I have owned a dish and the service (as least my service) was shit. Digital Cable has some awesome deals and the same avaliable programming as the Dishes.

Bonus: digital internet and online gaming.

I will never go back to a dish.

I just made the switch to cable awhile ago from Direct TV (left the dish at my old place). In my area my cable company is Comcast. You get all of the sports packages except for the most important one in my opinion the NFL Sunday Ticket. I'm installing Direct TV in my new place for the sole purpose to view the Sunday Ticket other than that Digital Cable offers basically the same channels as some of these dish companies.

Also I don't get West Coast Feeds when it comes to the premiums channels and as mentioned it does not offer the NFL Sunday Ticket, but other than that I'm happy with the switch. Pricing is very similar and you don't have to purchase or worry about upgrading your receivers.

I just talked to my satellite guy again, and he said as far as he knows, NFL Sunday Ticket is only offered on Direct TV, and not on cable. I know for sure it is not offered on cable in our area. One other rumor he has heard is that the cannel Fx is going to be taked off all cable packages and offered exclusively on Direct TV. That will affect a lot of Nascar fans if that is true.

I got Direct TV about 6 months ago and really like it. The Major League package is really good if you are into MLB. Also Direct TV just added TVG, the horseracing channel. If you are into the ponies this is great. They show all the races live from all the major tracks in the country.

I have Direct TV and am very happy with it. The channel packages are good and the reception is great. Sunday ticket is great and they are the only one that offers it. They make the cash.

The only complaint I have with Direct TV is maybe 1 or twice a day I will be sitting flipping the channels and lose sattelite(sp) feed.

There is no doubt about what is going on .
It gives you a nice message at the bottom and the screen goes dark..... Lost sattelite feed ............ Learn to love it.

I hate that FAWKING satalite !

One night I actually got out the deer rifle and went out and looked up into the dark georgia night sky for that damn sattelite. I was going to turn it from a rooster to a hen with one shot.

The first time I lost the sattelite feed, I called into the service center. It took forever for service to actually get on the line. These guys are bored and if your not nice about it they will give you a hard row to ho.They will say OK do you know where the cable connection comes into your house so we can test the line. ? Hell no and I aint going out there to look. You figure something the fawk else out pardner. I am not going for it.

The solution that he gave me after much cajoling around asking account numbers and all, was to unplug it and plug it back in.

This is the big service fix tip like turning the computer off and on. So armed with this pertinent information you can plan on doing that little fawking service call fix about 3 times a day !

Oh yeh and when I perfrom the service call the light next to the TV goes out putting me in complete darkness trying to reach behind the TV and plug that Direct TV outlet back in !

There are no long down periods but it will go out a few hours two or three times a month during thunderstorms.

The signal can't get through the clouds is what I was told.
Yeh right. But try to argue this point. It hopeless.

I really don't like having to get up and it always seems to happen when I am drinking a small coke in a glass bottle with salty peanuts poured in.

Its a southern tradition not to be interrupted watching a baseball game.

Hope that helps.
