gonna try to keep rolling along. just seein the games real well right now. kinda almost "expect" this to be a good day.
2 units.....notre dame (+5.5) over illinois
2 units.....duke (-10) over central michigan
2 units.....tulsa (+3) over wisconsin
(ADDED 1 unit.....cal/okie under 127...oklahoma should establish their tempo, and cal hasnt seen anyone as nearly as physical as oklahoma all year. pace of the game should be slow)
(ADDED 1 unit....duke 1h (-5) as well)
notre dame....just feel like their firepower on offense makes them a live dog...obviously- their interior is questionable, but the illini dont always take advantage of their size inside, so the irish should be ok in that respect...game should be played at notre dames pace, as illinois seems to allow their opponent to establish the pace of their choice, and then the illini follow that lead...really think notre dame has a shot to win this game, especially in front of what will likely be a very pro-notre dame crowd in indy (also bombs brings up an outstanding point in his post...at some point, you just are bound to struggle with freshmen in the backcourt.. and the irish counter the illini kids with veterans of their own to oppose them...big advantage for notre dame imo, regardless of how well illinois backcourt has played year to date)
duke.....lots of reasons to like the devils here...for starters, cmu is in off a ton of covers...and duke has been poor ats of late...aside from the technical aspect of the capping, just feel like duke pounds cmu saturday....the one GLARING stat that absolutely cant go without mentioning is cmu's lack of respect for the basketball. they turn the ball over a TON, which is something theyve done all year...and the creighton game was no different. cmu p1ssed away a 26 point lead because they take no care of the basketball whatsover...its like the ball is a hot potato to them...they got away with their careless vs inferior teams....but you aint gonna get away with that sh1t vs duke....devils will hit you with an 8-0 in 0:45 if cmu is as careless with the ball saturday as theyve been all year....simply put, theres just a huge class difference here...kaman was really a non-factor vs creighton anyways...some early foul trouble, but even after that, he didnt do a whole lot....cmu likes to play uptempo, but thats just playing right into dukes hands....the class difference will show up...even the kent state team from last year, which is even better than the cmu team this year, that kent team from last year would have gotten their a$$ whooped by a team like duke....just too much of a step up in class....devils should dominate this game
tulsa....no reason to go away from the hurricane...theyre just playing great basketball right now...swanson is getting open looks and knocking them down...parker is playing well...johnson is playing well.. and wisconsin wont be able to exploit tulsas main weakness, which is size on the interior...until proven otherwise, gonna ride the hurricane...theyre just a good, senior-laden team that shoots the 3 well, shoots free throws well, and knows how to compete in the ncaa tourney...their low lines (+2) and (+3) to much higher seeds also indicate that the hurricane is a dangerous team
