probably wont duplicate the success of friday, but will see how these do today. played this one early:

2 units.....north carolina state (+4.5) over wake forest

wolfpack have folded twice against wake this year. which can be looked at as glass half-full/half-empty. glass half-empty says wake will play to their #1 seed and nc state will fold again, but glass half-full says nc state had 2nd half leads in both games this year, and they could greatly use an outright win for their tourney resume. last week in ralieigh- wolfpack simply imploded in the 2h and allowed wake to steal the game. wolfpack should get the outright here.

concur with wolfpack today, and will have some dough on the moneyline as well. a lot of smack has been talked between these two teams since the last game's controversial ending in raleigh. state should come to play today.

The Panthers are trying to match their longest winning streak of the season. They opened the season with nine straight victories.

Pittsburgh has reached 25 victories for just the fourth time in school history. It only eclipsed that total during the 2001-02 season, when it won a school-record 29 games.

The Panthers won their only meeting with the Huskies this season, a 71-67 home victory on March 2.

I plan on making a huge bet on Pitt tonite and see 95% chance of them winning. Any thoughts?

gotta be honest, that big east game is tough to get a read on. both teams were awfully impressive last night. i just dont see a clear edge on either side there. one of those enjoy-it-as-a-fan kind of games in my opinion

final plays for saturday (barring any unforeseen add-ons)
2 units......nc state (+4.5) over wake forest
2 units......kent state (+1.5) over central michigan
2 units......southern cal (+3.5) over oregon
1/2 unit....duke 1h (-5) over carolina

already wrote some words about nc state above.

kent state....the mac got what they wanted..the #1 seed vs the #2 seed are playing for the title for the first time since the mac tourney moved to gund arena in 2000. both teams have played well this week, especially central michigan. but kent state is just too experienced and simply doesnt get rattled. it was impressive to watch how calm and collected kent was in the final 5:00 of yesterdays game. while ohio was throwing the ball all over the court and making poor decisions- kent, a team that has deep ncaa tourney experience- seemed unfazed by the pressure, late-game situation. i just feel like theyre gonna find a way to win today. central is playing great ball- but they havent played any close games lately, and havent been in a big-time atmosphere like this. flashes will find a way, especially in front of what will be a very pro-kent state crowd at gund arena

southern cal is hitting on all cylinders right now. their talent has never been an issue. they are just a young team and they made a handful of dumb plays and such early in the season. but now guys like dupree and oneill are stepping up to help out farmer and craven and this time just has so much CONFIDENCE. thats whats most noticable. i dont know how much oregon will have left after that late rally last night. even though ducks will be the more rested team by about 3 hours- the ducks played a much much more grueling game. southern cal really didnt break a sweat. trojans, as strange as it sounds, are going to the dance with a sub-.500 record

playing 1/2 unit on duke simply on principle alone. for starters, devils havent covered in a handful of games- and the tarheels have covered both meetings this year with ease. has carolina finally re-established this rivalry? im not so sure. duke always seems to rip carolina a new a$$ once a year. they have yet to do it in the first two meetings. just a gut feeling that carolina gets waxed today.

Gman,

Please stop playing Duke. It's going to injure your bankroll. They are terrible and a joke this year. Vegas has them so overvalued it is laughable. Duke is a team NC matches up with well because both teams lack an inside game/presence. This one goes to the wire, take the points and be merry!

Like the rest of your plays!!

agree to disagree on duke. fortunately, ive made good money going against em this year but even though they burned me a week ago vs the heels- i just feel like they smack em today, overvalued as they may be.

loophole:

thats interesting. to me, it seems like hed be a liability. why would carolina wait to bring him back until the acc tourney like this? duke will go right at him im sure. unc shoulda gradually brought him back over the last few weeks. i heard hes been practicing. but to throw him into the fire like this against duke if it happens- thats strange imo.

innavation:

lets hope your right. interesting parallel with creighton like you said. creighton had a string of non-covers and overall lethargic play before hammering siu. could happen with duke here today as well

shooter:

interesting stat. certainly, this is by far the best team cmu has had in the last half decade, and roster turnover has to be accounted for, but nonetheless, kent state has been able to beat cmu repeatedly over the last 3 or 4 years. and thats all they need to do tonight to cover. just feel like the flashes win this one. gl if you play ksu bud

Great call on Duke Gman!

Still wont back them, going anti-duke has been a gold mine this year. Doherty is a terrible coach, sent May out there completely out of shape. They just stood around and looked at him. It was rather comical.

pi$$-poor effort by me on the later games (kent and southern cal) to negate the early winners. usc finally played like, well- the usc we knew all year. played this one late:

2 units....colorado state (+8.5) over unlv

im kind of a rebel fan, but i just dont think theyre disciplined enough to cover this number. too careless with the ball at times, and i dont think csu is just gonna lay down for them. rams should keep it within the number.
