can you believe the tournament starts in less than 3 weeks?

north carolina (-23.5) 1 unit. so many points. just a gut feeling here that the tarheels are going to be out to prove a point after their loss to maryland.

villanova (-6.5) 2 units. what is this, the 3rd straight 'must-win' game for the hoyas? they haven't done so well in the first two at home. and now they hit the road to take on villanova. here's what villanova's done at home in conference... beat rutgers by 10, beat marquette by 18, beat syracuse by 17, beat cincinnati by 21, beat pitt by 10, beat st johns by 19, and lost to louisville by 1. pretty damn good. and notice all those wins are by double digits.

cleveland state (+7) 1 unit. the vikings are 4-4 on the conference road, including 3 straight wins. and their 2 road losses before that were by 2 & 4 points. not to mention their road win at syracuse. they also lost at home by 2 to butler way back in december, blowing a 7-point halftime lead. i have to believe they will shoot better than 26% from the field today (9% on 3-pointers) and 57% from the FT line.

florida st (+1.5) 1 unit. the seminoles have already won at clemson this year, on the strength of a big 2nd half. they outrebounded the tigers and had one fewer turnover. i look for them to bounce back from their loss at bc.

virginia tech (+5.5) 1 unit. this number looks fishy. duke should be laying 7 or 8. maybe it's adjusted for the loss of nolan smith, but i think that is probably addition by subtraction. hokies are making a late push for the tournament. after losing 3 straight, they entered a 3-game stretch against clemson, duke, and nc. they won the first leg at clemson. now back-to-back home games against duke and nc. should be a big effort from vt today.
