ucla (+10.5) 2 units. yes, i know ucla is bad this year. but any time i can get points with a good defensive team against a team that is led by tory jackson, i will take them. it's so sad to think that this is the last year i'll be able to bet against tory jackson.
texas (-6.5) 1 unit. i have no idea why texas is ranked #2 in the country. at some point, they have to slow down after all the cupcakes they've had this year. but this play is more anti-nc. this is a young team in only their second true road game. in their first, they were getting blown out at kentucky before a huge late rally made it close. side note... any time i bet against texas, they make every single free throw. watch today - they'll probably be lucky to hit 50% from the line.
houston (+3.5) 1 unit. i think houston's style negates one of mississippi state's strengths, which is varnado in the middle of the defense.
louisville (-9.5) 1 unit. i've flip-flopped on this game. i mean, louisville has no business laying this many points in this game, right? their wins are over oral rob, stetson, app st, morgan st, e tenn, and arkansas. they've lost to western carolina, charlotte, and unlv. wku beat louisville last year as a 19-point dog. IF this is a legitimate line, then wku is certainly the play. i'm betting that this line is begging for wku money. maybe i'm wrong, and the linesmakers haven't noticed louisville isn't that good (at least not yet - seems to me they normally get off to slow starts under pitino).
