Saturday, May 18th - LA Lakers vs. Sacramento Kings
The Battle of the Western Conference ''Big Boys'' begins tonight as the Kings will attempt to knock off the back-to-back World Champion LA Lakers starting at 6:30 PM EST from Arco Arena in game 1. Looking forward to one hell of a series here guys! If the Kings are to eliminate the Lakers, this will be the year. The ammo is there, but will the guns be big enough against Shaq and Kobe? One concern for the King's will be the abscence of their All-Star forward Peja Stojakovic's whom will miss at least the first two games of the Western Conference finals due to an ankle injury suffered last Thursday in Game 3 of the Kings' semifinal series with Dallas, and was forced to sit out of the final two games of that series.
LA is 16-5 against Sacramento SU since Jackson became their coach, and have eliminated the Kings from the playoffs in each of the two previous years including a four-game sweep last year, and they have won five of their last six games at Arco SU. Lakers are 6-1 ATS in the last seven meetings, but the Lakers are 2-8 ATS in last 10 games overall. As far as the total, the under is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings, and the under is 5-1 in LA's last six overall.
Sacramento will look to be running the floor while trying to tire Shaq, and will pound the ball inside to Divac in an attempt to get the ''Big Man'' in foul trouble. Speaking of running, the Kings last four games overall have gone over. The King's have been cashing as they are 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall. Through out the entire season, the Kings are 31-15-0 ATS at home, while LA on the road ATS is an unimpressive 19-25-0.
I'm looking for an up-and-down paced game as Arco Arena will erupt as the Kings take game 1 which will be huge for them. The King's victory will be a high scoring affair as Sacro must run to win!
