"I need more cowbell!

I can't wait!

There's another skit where he's Colonel Lingus. That's another good one.

Go get 'em redsfann. I thought the shot was more than fair. I shot 1853 all events. I'll take that every year. I'm sitting in 225th right now in singles with a 686. They're expecting 80,000 bowlers so there should be a decent prize fund.

If you play a big belly shot, just figure on shooting down 4th arrow. If you send it outside of 7 or 8 board, bye-bye, it won't come back. Don't even think about playing outside.

The wife and I stayed at Silver Legacy. Where are you staying?

One more thing, great steakhouse inside the PepperMill on So. Virginia Street. Nice atmosphere and great food. Beats buffets all the time. :)

Give us an update when you return.

yyz, that guy who shot 858 can cash the check. Nobody will come close to beating that score. It amazes me the guy missed a 900 series by 2 10-pins!

Yeah, YYZ, saw that score when I was checking out the team scores after the local fishwrap ran the story about the team from here sitting in 3rd in the tourney. I'd be happy breaking 600 after the last tourny in Reno...

Nole--

Now you've got me even more excited about bowling out there. I usually belly it out just inside the 4th arrow (I'm a lefty--hope the shot the same for us..lol), and if I'm not scoring that way, just inside the 2nd arrow...10th or 11th board, maybe?...Is a shot I can play pretty well, too.

We are staying at the Sands Regency. The last two tourneys in Reno we have stayed at the Silver Legacy, but the fellas that are joining us from New Jersey this time around wanted to stay here instead and the rooms were actually a bit cheaper than the Silver Legacy.

Yes, we know all about that steakhouse you are refering to. Last visit, both my doubles partner and I won enough jack at the tables to get comped meals for 4, so twice we ate like kings and it was on the house!
80,000 is all? Thought that 100,000+ was almost a given when they were in Reno....

Just wait until '09 and '10....Vegas in '09 and Reno in '10......

Full update when I return, hope I can brag about some decent scores...

Also, did you shoot the 40 Frame Game, and if so, how far is it from the Stadium? We will have a car as we are heading to Tahoe one day and to Carson City to see some relatives another, but out of the 15 bowlers(plus wives) I think only two of us are renting cars, so if the walk is too long(we have heard the joint is real close to everything) I'll be shuttling guys around all damn night......

Too bad you have to basically sign up for next years tourney BEFORE you go to this years because a Madjack's Nationals team could be a lot of fun....

All we need is a 5th, as we have me leading off, YYZ in the two hole, Nole in the 4th hole and jr11 anchoring this motley crew. Any other bowlers here at Jack's want to apply for the 5th spot on our team?

redsfann, near as I could tell, both sides have an identical shot. You're lucky because, more than likely, not many folks will be playing on your side so that oil will stay around a little longer. Just get locked in and "grip it and rip it". Please, do not go outside of 12 board. I mean it. Too much margin for error.

Lots of bracket money out there. As a matter of fact, I had to go to the Sands to collect my money so you'll be right there. The bracket booth is near the blackjack tables and the crap tables.

This was my 22nd tourney and I have yet to bowl in that 40-frame game. I have no idea where it's shot at. Over at the Hilton, it was only a dollar a game for ABC bowlers if you want to practice some.

Can't believe Vegas and Reno are back-to-back. It doesn't get much better than that!

I'll have to check with jr11 on swapping positions. I really like bowling anchor. ;)

Bowl well redsfann.

Nole, you should be good for about $400-$500 with your score.

Fann..........I'm not sure I wanna be in Mad Jack's "two hole".

Er, umm, I mean....

yeah, a poor choice of words there, YYZ. How about if you bowl 2nd in the Madjack's lineup? LMFAO!!

22nd tourney, thats really cool, Nole. This is my 9th, the last 8 in a row. Did you get a plaque for your 20th? 2 years ago, two of the guys I go with hit their 25th years and they got plaques to mark the milestone.
During our shift 3 or 4 years ago a guy got an award for bowling in his 50th tourney.....:)

You should think about shooting the 40 frame game sometime, Nole. Its a lot of fun, you get cash back that night and you can win some decent money and/or a trip to the finals paid for by them. Its a drinking fest for us, but we do take it somewhat seriously and its a chance to throw the ball before our shifts in the tourney.

I'll be back on Tuesday with; hopefully, some decent scores to brag about....;)

I feel like a dolt. The character was Colonel "Angus". They just run it together during the skit. They opened with Blue Oyster Cult which got the night off to a great start.

How about Pranksters. Beating the guy with a tire-iron for taking his parking spot. That was great.
