got a decent run going; lets see what saturday holds:
hou +120 and over 7:
going in full contrarian mode in this one. over seems particularly precarious with these two starters and the wind blowing in at wrigley, but i'm intrigued by this matchup. with emotions running on high as a result of the recent beanings, we get two starters that are known for their propensity for pitching inside. it's not out of the question that the issue could come up again today, especially with the way these two teams have been hitting right-handed pitching lately. astros appear to be the club that has reacted positively to the situation, and in a battle where the head game plays a factor, i'll take the rocket every time. while at this point zambrano may be roger's equal in physical skills, he still a head case when stressed. also, there's a pretty good chance that rain delays could keep both starters from putting in a full day's work.
mon +165
tor +155
dog day in canada for me. for some reason peavy has struggled with the expos (8.40 career era, 11.57 in olympic stadium) while patterson has pitched well against the pads (2.77 career era). likewise, brownie has a 5.06 career ear vs toronto, 7.32 in the skydome, and lilly has controlled the yanks with a 2.96 career era.
looking for a split at worst.
stl/pit over 9:
have to believe the cards will get theirs against figueroa. morris has a 5.01 era in day games this year and 5.63 era on the road. he has had his problems with the pirates in pittburgh, with a 7.25 era at pnc.
