cant be as thorough as id like with these reasons. just dont have enough time right now.

loyola marymount (+13.5) over gonzaga (10:00 tip)
gonzaga playing their 5th straight game where theyre laying significant chalk. of course its likely theyll lay significant chalk the rest of the season in the wcc, especially at home, but this should be a very stiff test for the zags. lmu beat em outright on this court last year. after an up and down game against pepperdine on the road, this might be a game where gonzaga's key injuries finally play a role and they could struggle a bit. gonzaga a deeper than usual but still think those injuries show up at some pt

depaul (+21.5) over cincinnati (8:00 tip)
depaul is one of the few teams in conf usa that can match cincys physical play and toughness. dont have a ton of fundamental reasons for backing depaul. just feel cincy is overpriced at this point. cats struggled a big with tulane. waves were back and forth down 7 and 9 until cincy pulled away late to cover that game. cincy has covered a ton of games in a row. this is a damn good cincy team - could be one of huggins better teams -- but i think this # is inflated

buffalo (+7.5) over western michigan (1:00 tip)
i think bulls rally vs miami could provide a springboard for this one. buffalo got off to a terrible start vs the redhawks, trailed 50-30 at one point and then got to within 6. wmu a different type of team than miami, and theyre a team i think the bulls matchup much better with. broncos rallied in akron to win vs the zips last saturday. theyve been off since then. so they should be sharp. even at their sharpest, i think buffalo covers

kent state 1h (-8) over ohio university (8:00 tip)
going back to something that has produced a lot of winners for me the last year or two. year in and year out it seems kent just runs away with games at home in the 1st 10:00 of the game during conference play. they struggled vs ball state last saturday. i dont think that will happen here. ohio is an extremely young team and that can be dangerous on the road. kent could throw an early knockout blow
