i am soooo glad i didn't watch the second half of the so miss/tcu game. after watching every conceivable break go against smu in the first half, i don't think i could have maintained through that third quarter meltdown that blew the under as well as the side. so, 1-2 that game with the first half under saving the night, 57-48 overall. interesting to note that my winning margin was made in two days with the remainder of the season playing out as a coin flip. as previously noted, totals have been my undoing this season - with no total plays this year my record would be over 60% as in years' past. this week i'm try a couple more totals after laying off for a couple of weeks. in any event, this has been my most unproductive college season in several years. not much to offer in the way of writeups today though i have a few words to offer on the duke game. if clemson wasn't .500 i would have made this one a bfgotw.
duke +10- *double play*: hard to figure how the tigers can be laying dd on the road while being last in total offense in acc games, and given duke's improvement on defense this year. bowden and his offense are under fire among the tiger faithful. this week clemson has a legitimate qb controversy with bowden making it a game day decision whether to start willie simmons or redshirt frosh charlie whitehurst. this ploy is probably gamesmanship as simmons likely to remain the starter, but it does give an indication of the tiger's level of confidence at this point. clemson d hasn't fared much better of late, allowing over 600 total yards rushing to nc state and wake over the last two games. after a 3-0 start tigers are now 1-4 their last five with the only win coming against a wake team that outplayed them all day only to self-destruct as a result of five turnovers. blue devils have practiced well this week and are anxious to erase the appearence of a reversion to mediocrity occasioned by the poor showing vs the terps last week. clemson only 3-3 last six in durham.

ncs/gt under 48: i expect you will see a solid defensive effort from the pack today against a tech offense that has struggled all season -gailey could be the most overrated coach in the country.
