looking to build on last week's solid showing. i was a missed extra point away from having a great day. here goes....
penn state (-19.5) 2 units. i just wrote my thoughts on this game in carl spackler's thread, but the general gist is that penn state can still stuff the run. northwestern, in 4 games this year (including a home game against NEW HAMPSHIRE), has a TOTAL of 511 passing yards. sutton is in for a long day. i look for morelli to settle in and find some of his weapons en route to a solid win.
duke (+5) 1 unit. WHAT??? gotta do it. this virginia team is pitiful and i HAVE to take points from them on the road.
utah (-4.5) 2 units. line looks fishy to me. gotta take the utes, although i can't offer any good reasons why.
central mich (+9.5) 1 unit. kentucky laying points? in between sec matchups against florida and south carolina? against a team that has won 2 straight games and is 4-0 ATS on the year? gimme those points.
LSU (-34) 2 units. combined score in this matchup the last 5 years: 247-26. LSU wins today 49.5 - 5.
Texas Tech (+2.5) 3 units. tech has covered something like 11 of the last 12 in this matchup. a&m needed a goal line stand at the end of the game to beat army 28-24.
iowa (+7) 1 unit. going back to the 2002 season, iowa is 19-4 ATS at home.
ohio st/iowa over (42.5) 1 unit. both teams still have good offenses and both lost 2 or 3 linebackers to the NFL. should be enough points scored here to go over this total.
