Animal Kingdom is trying to stay alive for horse racing?s Triple Crown by winning Saturday?s Preakness. Horse racing betting has not had a Triple Crown winner since 1978 but if Animal Kingdom can win the Preakness he would have a good shot in the Belmont on June 11th. The win in the Kentucky Derby for Animal Kingdom was the first start for the horse on the dirt and he took to it very well. He has trained extremely well this week for Graham Motion and appears to be ready for another big effort.
The second choice in Preakness odds will be beaten Derby favorite Dialed In who is 9-2 on the morning line. He was a major bust in the Derby as he finished 8th. There is a ton of money on the line for the connections of Dialed In as they would get an extra $5.5 million if the horse wins the race. The third choice in the betting is Mucho Macho Man who was third in the Kentucky Derby. He is listed at 6-1 on the morning line and will start from post position #9.
Post time on Saturday afternoon is approximately 6:25 pm Eastern and the race will be televised by NBC. Here is a look at the full field with their post positions, jockeys and betting odds for Saturday?s race.
