Good day Friday.......

On Weds I really rolled up my sleeves reviewed all the numbers and provided a few sentences for each selection. I then proceeded to have a terrible night, hence no such drivel will accompany these selections. This first group was also posted as soon as I saw numbers up at betonline......

Akron pk (7)
Ball St -1' (2)
Toledo +2 (2)
Central Mich +9' (2)
UIC +4' (1)
Miami Oh +1 (4)

I will say that the Kent State line and the Miami Oh line really surprised me. I expect a couple of these to move in my favor and may or may not be back for some 1st halves and totals when the numbers break before the first few tips.

I like this MAC card for Saturday

Good Luck Full Court Press! You follow the MAC close. I can't stand wagering on their games unless on TV. Hope you sweep! Think Toledo is the best team in this conference btw. Would like to hear who you think is solid? Akron & Ohio appear a notch below.

Thanks... I have two MAC gyms no more than about ten minutes from my house so I pretty much have followed the MAC since the 80s.

I suppose Toledo is considered the team to beat by many after they came in and beat Akron. I'm not sold yet. The problem with them though is their terrible defense. When they go cold from the field they can be had. Akron has played well since that game and changed their starting lineup and a bit of their philosophy. They've been riding their starters more and more and its paying off. They have played in Every MAC championship game for 7 years running now so until somebody knocks them down a peg or 2 they are still the team to beat in a tourney scenario and a much better defensive team than Toledo.

I honestly see no other legit contenders at this point. All of the others have some major holes.

Non MAC plays: 2 units unless noted

Hall +8
Ill St -4 (1)
Wright St +9
SMU-2
Illinois +5' (1)

Couple of FHs just one unit

Depaul under 65 .... Even a guy with the coaching ability of Purnell should understand that slowing it down helps to protect his lack of depth with the suspensions. And who's going to pick up the slack with Melvin out ?

Ohio under 68..... If OU tries to run with Toledo it may not be pretty. Christian has to understand that..... does he not??

Line slipped to 7' at Green Bay which is probably an indication that talented 7'1" center Brown won't go for the Phoenix. I grabbed some +9 last night but not enough if he sits.

took a shot at sju/mass un 68' 1h. any thoughts? sju typically plays a more deliberate pace at home vs good teams. hopefully a good does of Roberts and Kanacevik to slow down the game.

Makes good sense. U Mass looks like they can be slowed on the road and no doubt that is what the Hawks need to do.

That would be my best guess. Good luck

Could have not been more wrong about the flow of the FH of the Toledo game ignoring one important fact: Teams that love to run hate to be run on. No reason at all for Christian to chane gears and Toledo doesn't know how to do the same.

And I gave Purnell way too much credit.

Banked in 3 at the buzzer... 3 OT losses.... I'm fuckin pissed at losing games like this and ever so intolerant of some of the morons that share this space. Even though I didn't really get torched today, I need a damn break.

Thanks for the feedback on sju/mass. I watch all of the hawks game and hope to provide some winners as they are in the thick of an a10 battle. Martelli is really coaching poorly past few years and makes no halftime adjustments. Biggest blow to the program was losing asst coach monte ross to delaware a few yrs back. He recruited jameer nelson and delonte west and their recruiting has really suffered losing alot of philly kids to temple and lasalle.
