MLB: 318-291 +74.9 units
Fav: 105-85 -13.3 units
Dog: 105-131 +28.7 units
Ovs: 60-41 +41.6 units
Uns: 48-34 +17.9 units

Not much of a chalk player, but have to put hard earned money behind a few.

Also a rare day when I could not find and over/under I felt good about.

Back later with a few thoughts behind some of these plays.

All for 2 units:

SD +200 (Jarvis)
NYY -150 (Clemens)
CWS +120 (Lowe/Tavarez)
SEA -170 (Garcia)
OAK -150 (Zito)
TEX -130
ATL -200 (Roberts/Burkett)
ANA +170 (Washburn)

gl!

Really miss Jack's thread on his initial thoughts on each game. Just got home, seen no scores, and thought I'd share a few thoughts on plays/no plays today.

I'm doing this off the top of my head without all the memory of the stats in front of me. Bear with me, my memory doesn't get any better as I get older (old).

Just thought we might be able to learn something, or maybe I might look like a fool in the process. The fool part doesn't bother me, not having enough time to share info does bother me. I'm not here to pat myself on the back. Wish everyone could do it more, but realize the time constraints.

NYY -150
Dempster pitching well as of late and the fish win the first two games of the series. I felt, as another astute capper has mentioned on this forum, the Yanks would have trouble in game one. Travel from the all-star game.

Thought they would bounce back in game two. I was totally wrong!

Other than a few stats I can't pull off of the top of my head, Clemens-how can you play against him? Especially down 0-2 in the series? Didn't like the ov/un, saw it going both ways.

CLE/CIN Burba and CIN scared me off this game early. Under was tempting, but not with these starters/past performance/etc.

CWS/CHC Played Sox. Lowe pitching well as of late, definite play against Tavarez. Didn't bother with the ov/un.

TB/MON Won't waste my time on the bad Rekar vs a bad Montreal team. Ov/un went to 9.5 locally, passed.

KC/PIT Tail spin and all for the Royals, think Wilson will pitch well today. Ov/un and side way to risky for me. Royals bats can explode, who knows when. I played these two over first two and looked foolish. Pass.

DET/STL Played DET last two nights for a nice dog profit. Price too heavy on Kile when STL is in a slump. Pass. Ov/un to iffy with Lima.

SF/SEA Played SF last 2 nights. They should have won both. Went the other way today. Heavy lumber for me, but Garcia should be up to the task as usual, and the kicker was Estes, really struggling lately.

LA/OAK Played OAK as Zito was worth it, IMHO, based on recent play. LAD's Prokopec was a good early play, but not recently. Maybe someone mentioned this, I watched Prok last time out and he looks to be hurt.

COL/TEX Oh boy! I'm 0-3 this year on the Rangers. Have cashed plenty playing against them. As I remember off the top of my head, Davis/BP stats favor this as a Texas play. I played it.

BAL/ATL -200 ATL wasn't in my plans, but everything pointed to ATL continuing the streak. Love playing favs at home during the playoffs/World Series, even big FAVS. Usually never this time of year. Played ATL today though.

MIN/MIL Milton probably is the play and hated the ov/un as a coin flip. Pass

ARZ/ANA Can't pass up Washburn +170, who as better recent stats than the Unit recently. BP was also a factor here as I remember.

SD/HOU SD +200 Just like Jarvis here too much. Have watched him on the screen to much and really impresses me. Can't lay 220 on Miller.

Ok, blast me, or ask questions. That's my positive contribution for today.

Time to look at some scores and see where I stand.

Like the Texas play. Very very hot here (this ain't Colorado) and the sun is straight into left fielders face, Texas bats should light this one up.

You are right about the chalk today. I played a couple on the RL. Took astros with some concern but Javis's road record pushed me over the edge. Just hope the Stros's bat do not go dormaint. Also took all the chalk: Stros, Expos , M's, Braves, Yanmks, and Cards in a 50:1662 parlay. Right now yanks are tied with the fish hitting in the bottom of the 9th.

Like reading your thoughts.

thanks,
Bill
