i'm heading up to lake placid for some hockey today, so i'm trying to stay focused on just a few games.
indiana (+3.5) 2 units. not sure how northwestern bounces back after that loss to michigan st. the dog has covered 4 straight in this matchup, and 6 of the last 7. the home dog has won 4 out of 5 straight up, with the only loss in OT.
indiana/nw over (58.5) 1 unit. again, i expect a letdown from nw, and that tends to impact the defense more. indiana's passing game should put up points, and northwestern should still be able to put up points on indiana's porous defense.
nebraska (-7.5) 3 units. doesn't this line just beg you to take missouri? i mean, they beat the #1 team in all the land last week. and now they're catching 7.5 from a team that just lost at home to texas? TEXAS!
texas a&m (-7.5) 1 unit. ugh. neither team is particularly good, but why the hell would this line jump up? this game is normally not close. here's the point differenrtial the last 10 years - 22, 18, 28, 4, 39, 7, 31, 1, 12, 18. the straight up winner covered 9 of 10. so just pick the SU winner, and you'll be all set.
iowa (-6.5) 3 units. another line that jumps out at you. seriously, how is a 5-2 team favored by almost a td over an undefeated, #5 team in the country? iowa failed in a very similar situation just last week. it's damn near impossible to bet the hawkeyes today. well, sign me up. iowa has covered against michigan st the last 4 matchups in iowa city.
georgia (-2) 1 unit. 2 things keeping this from being a bigger play - 1) it seems just a bit too easy. 2) the line drop. this is really two teams heading in opposite directions. the bulldogs and aaron murray have finally figured things out, and are playing pretty decent football. florida... it looks like the sec is finally enjoying a chance to beat on the gators.
texas (-7.5) 1 unit. this is insane, right? texas is terrible this year. they lost at home to iowa st, for crying out loud. and baylor isn't bad. and yet this line has snuck up to 7.5. wtf?
