First off, let me say that I went 2-0 yesterday, so I am making this observation objectively. I guess one could say, I got lucky on one and benefited from the other.

I'm I in the minority that felt the officiating was AWFUL in both games?

With 10:56 left in the game, Pitino finally got T'd up. I thought he was one foul too late personally. The fouls were 18-9 at that point. The final box score does not tell the story, as Florida fouled 4 times in the last two minutes.

The Syracuse game became even more absurd. Before the first TV timeout, there were five fouls called, 4-1 on Cuse. There were five fouls called in the first 2:30 in the second half!! Before Syracuse got in the position where they had to foul, basically the last 1:08, there were 40 fouls called in 39 minutes of play. 67 free throws shot in the game, 42 of which were shot by the Buckeyes, is insane.

Again, I went 2-0, so I am not that bitter, but the point is I was looking forward to these two games and both were side-shows to the officials. When you get to this point in the season, especially with the latter match-up, you have to let them play a little more physical.

I would be scared shart-less to take another under after yesterday.:mj07:

Many NBA foul calls yesterday, especially in the 2nd game. I also went 2-0 on the games, so I too can speak somewhat objectively on this. There were at least 4-5 calls I distinctly remember where the ref was anticipating the call rather than watching the play just play out. One foul on Craft in particular was laughable.

I am ok with refs making a bad call here and there, as I know it's an incredibly hard position to be in. The fast pace of the game really makes what these guys do a tough job. But at this stage, why not let the kids play a little? For Christ's sake, if some of the fouls that were called yesterday were indeed fouls.....how did all of Creighton's big men not foul out against UNC. They were allowed to manhandle Zeller a few times with no call.

Going into the game, the referees just need to let the kids determine the outcome of the game.....not vice versa

Get rid of the "nickel-dimers" such as hand checks, or anything that takes away from the flow. Let's watch basketball and not the officials.

I dare anyone to take Baylor and/or the under:popcorn2

Too many on Baylor in this forum. I think Baylor has the athletes to stay with Kentucky and hope it is a great game, but if you don't think that EVERYONE(NCAA, New Orleans, Officials, etc.) is well aware that Kentucky-Louisville will spill over hotels into Alabama, you are nuts.

Simple economics:shrug:

Terrible officiating in SU game. Extremely inconsistent.
Sullinger picks up his 2nd foul on basically a no touch but sends Kieta flying with a shoulder and gets a no call. OSU defender clearly in restricted area but calls charge on Triche. Offensive interference on Thomas when ball was clearly out of cylinder. On and On.

SU played scared on defensive end all second half, especially Christmas and Kieta. Any bump was called a foul so they had no choice but to be tentative and back off.

Too bad an elite eight game has to be settled by officials.

LET EM PLAY AS RAFF WOULD SAY

BTW - I want to start a petition for Gus Johnson, and Raff for the Final 4. It doesn't get better than those two:

Where it is real F ing COLD
I too went 2 - 0 and the Officiating was horrendous. It's amazing both teams won. Pitino was yelling at his on player when he got T d up. I watched a Louisville guy get knocked on his ass a couple times with no foul and then watched Louisville get ticky tac fouls.

Craft foul was a joke and then they anticipated a double dribble on him and his hand clearly did not touch the ball and the official who called it was not in position to see the double dribble.

Sullinger in foul trouble early on shit. If Sullinger can stay out of foul trouble OSU wins the tournament.
