Saturday's Games
Televised Games
Michigan State allowed 69 points in losing last two games; they had coaching foul-up at end of half at Ohio State last week, and Coach Smith ripped staff publicly. Spartans are 6-15 vs spread in last 21 tries as home favorite; their last four games all went over. Northwestern won its last two games, covered its last three; the problem is they've allowed 34+ points in five of their six games. Road team covered six of last eight series games.

Iowa is 6-0-2 vs spread in its last eight games vs Michigan, as last two Wolverine visits to this site were close, high-scoring games (M32-26/I30-27). Lot of close games in Big 11 this season as last four Michigan games decided by three or less pts. Iowa is 27-4 vs spread in last 31 home games. Michigan is 0-3 vs the spread this year in game following a win. Hawkeyes won their last three games, all by 17+ points.

Indiana is better under Hoeppner, but they've lost last three in a row vs Buckeyes by scores of 45-17/30-7/35-6, as they ran ball 96 times for 97 yards in those games. Hoosiers are 4-2 in 2005, with both losses by 17 points. Ohio State is 18-32 vs spread in games following their last 50 wins. Road team is 9-3-1 vs spread in series. Buckeyes covered one of last five games on carpet. Indiana 6-12 in last 18 tries as a home underdog.

Florida State covered last four games vs outmanned Duke; only issue here is if Seminoles are banged up, and if so, do the give their subs a look, and have mercy on Duke squad that lost four games in row, three by 25+ points. FSU won last five series tilts by average score of 50-12. Florida State lost at Virginia last week they're 1-3 vs spread in games following their last four losses.

Road team covered seven of last nine Baylor-Oklahoma games; Morriss has Bears playing better football, but all three Sooners' wins this season are by 16+ points. Oklahoma won last five tilts vs Baylor by average score of 43-7, so even though Bears 4-0 vs spread on road this season, lot to ask, asking them to compete for 60:00 vs team that has waxed them every year. Sooners 3-6 vs spread in last nine tries as home favorite.

Last year was first time in 98 meetings Missouri was favored to beat Nebraska; this is #2; Tiger QB Smith had concussion last week in OT win over Iowa State, but freshman QB Daniel bailed them out and provided hope for future. Huskers 2-5 in their last seven tries as road dog; their first road game was last week, and they beat spunky Baylor squad. Mizzou had two defensive TD's last week in narrow escape over Cyclones.

BYU covered just five of its last 16 non-league road games, but they won last two games to even record at 3-3, here, they visit a Notre Dame squad that spilled its guts last week, came up short. Three of four Notre Dame wins this year have been by 19+ pts, but dogs covered both their home games. Irish are 3-6 in last 9 tries as home favorite. BYU has 431+ total yards in five of last six games. Wonder if they cut the grass on this field yet?

Visitor is 12-1 vs spread in this intense rivalry, with Tennessee 6-0 vs number in last six visits to this site. Both sides have key performers out for year with injury, Alabama has better situation at QB, but they've lost last two home tilts vs Vols by scores of 35-24/51-43. Tennessee is 9-4 in last 13 tries as road dog, but in last four games, only once have they run for more than 80 yards a bad sign. Bama is 0-3 as home favorite this season; they won in last minute at Ole Miss last week, in sub-par performance.

Cal lost last two games, allowing 70 points; QB Ayoob was just 13-39 passing, so hard to lay lot of points to Wazoo club that is 11-3 vs spread in last 14 series games and won last three games SU, winning last two at this site, 21-17/48-38. Coogs lost three in row, last two by FG each, as they've allowed 25 ppg just in the second half of last three games. All five Cal wins this season are by 15 or more points.

Visitor won last three Purdue-Wisconsin games, covering eight of last 11, with three tilts decided by total of just 12 points. It is four losses in row for Boilers, who allowed 39.8 ppg; they're just 3-11 vs spread in last 14 tries as road dog, while Badgers have allowed 85 points in last two games, but are 7-2-1 in last ten as a home favorite. Wisconsin had miracle win at Minnesota a week ago, scoring two TD's in last 2:3- for 38-34 upset win.

UCLA is 6-0, but last three wins are by 4,7,3 points; they've let opponents run ball for 659 yards and score 81 points in last two games, now they face old friend Moore, who transferred up to Corvallis after getting beat out for UCLA starting QB job, so a special game for him. Dogs covered six of last eight series tilts, with visitor winning last three. Beavers are 8-4-1 vs spread vs UCLA, but just 4-9 vs spread in last 13 games on natural grass.

Texas Tech lost four of last five games vs Texas, losing last two visits to this site by 43-7/43-40 scores; average total in last three series games is 78. Dogs are 8-4 vs spread in series, but Tech is just 8-15 vs spread in last 23 games on grass, as rhythm passing harder when not on fast carpet. Five of six Texas wins this year are by 25+ points; they're 2-0-1 as home favorite, with all six of their games this season going over total. Tech is 5-2 in its last seven tries as road underdog.

Louisville pounded Cincinnati last year, 70-7, in series where the favorite has covered seven of last eight games. Cards won their last two visits to this site, 28-13/43-40. Three of four Louisville wins this year are by 36+ points, but they've lost two of three on foreign soil, including OT loss at West Virginia last week. Cards are 0-3 as road favorite this year. Cincinnati is 3-0 at home, but all three of their losses are by 18+ points.

Illinois allowed 41.8 ppg in last four games, losing last three, as they've held only one foe under 30 points. Nittany Lions have to guard against letdown after last play loss at Ann Arbor last week, and Ohio State win week before that. Visitor covered five of last six Penn State-Illinois games, but Lions lost last visit to this site, 33-28. Illinois 4-10 vs spread in last 14 Big 11 home tilts. JoePa 3-6 vs spread in last nine tries as road favorite.

Former Utah offensive coordinator Sanford now the head man at UNLV, and Rebels are on a slide, losing four of last five games, with last two defeats by a combined score of 84-24; not good. Utes are 0-7 vs spread this season; they've allowed 26.7 ppg in losing their last three games. Rebel troubles have come on road; they're 2-0 at home, 6-4 in last ten tries as home dog, but cannot recommend either side in this game.

LSU won its last three games, as they get their lives back to normal, but they're 0-2 as home favorite this season. Home side won the last five Auburn-LSU games (4-0-1 vs the spread), with Auburn losing last two visits to this site by 27-14/ 31-7 scores. Auburn won last five games after opening loss; they're 17-9 vs spread in game following their last 26 wins, 5-2 in last seven as a road underdog. LSU is minus-6 in turnovers the last two games.

Carroll's beatings of Willingham-coached Irish teams are reason Tyrone is in Seattle now. USC trailed at half in three of last four games, as they play down to level of opponent; this is fourth road game in last five weeks, vs depressed foe that is 2-15 since start of last year; favorite covered last three UW home games. Trojans failed to cover last three games; they held Huskies to six first downs in last year's 38-0 win at Coliseum.
