Funniest thing happened at Wal-Mart this morning
We hit Wally World about 5AM this morning to get in on the sale blitz....
My aunt works there and had set aside 5 TV's and 2 Nintendo Game Cubes that were advertised to go VERY cheap (and with her 20% employee discount it got even better!!)...
When we got there, the lines were crazy and you couldn't even walk down the isles
She had one of her co-workers ring us up ahead of everyone else, but I still had to stay on line for other items that we didn't have saved (DVD players, R/C Trucks, etc.)...
It was a big clusterf#ck cause the lines weren't regulated and people kept cutting in left and right
And because the items were not on the shelves, you had to wait on one line to get one item, then move to another line for another item
There were these two Latino guys standing near the end of the line, each with 2 Game cubes in bags just chit chatting in spanish and everyone noticed them cause they were the ONLY ones who had bought Game Cubes and were sticking around
Well, the cashiers started making announcements every 10 minutes or so to let everyone know what items were sold out...
Started off with the R/C Hummer they had on sale (which I didn't get cause we were stuck on other lines)...
About 10 minutes later, they announced that they were out of the $99 Flat Screen TV's (which I already had 5 snuck into the van)...
About 2 minutes after I pickup 2 DVD players for $29 bux, they announced that they sold out of those (lucky me)...
All the while people are yelling and screaming because they had been standing in lines for hours
Anyhoo, even though we got most of the blitz stuff we came for, the wife was still picking up other little things, so I waited by the hunting section (being that it was the only isle that wasn't full with lunatic shoppers) and just tried to stay out of everyone's way...
As I was checking out the BB and Paint Ball guns they had on display, another announcement was made...
"Attention All Wal-Mart Shoppers..... We are now Sold Out of the Following Sale Items....."
He stopped right there and there was dead silence for about 30 seconds
'Flatscreen TV's, Radio Controlled Hummers, Apex DVD Players...."
(then he paused for like 5 seconds and with a HUGE smile on his face he said)
"NINTENDO GAME CUBES"
As soon as he said that, it was TOTAL CHAOS!!
There was a line with about 120 people snaking around 5 different isles, all waiting for game cubes
They were pushing and shoving and yelling cussing!!
Just plain CRAZY!!
Then about 3 minutes later, I heard a very faint voice over the crowd say "Anybody wanna buy a Game Cube?"
It was one of the Latino guys
They got MOBBED by people waiving hundred dollar bills in their face!!
It took like a minute of haggling before they sold off what they had, but as they were counting their cash and trying to make their exit, they got held up by security and pulled into the Lay-Away Room
Not sure what happened to them after that, but everyone there started laughing their asses off
It was definitely worth the wait to see the looks on their faces
